Live Deadline Day Transfer Rumours from Daily Echo
Kingsland Red replied to ruddick's topic in The Saints
My own favourite Saints rumour / non-signing was Oliver Bierhoff. -
Another big earner gone, hopefully this frees up some more wonga for AP.I hope he's working hard!

The truth is that that we have no leaders on the pitch. Hopefully Hammond and a robust centre back can turn this around. A verbal leader not accepting half hearted performances around him is what this club has lacked for years. Also it is time to stop the academy hype. Saints academy's potential stars have all gone, as noted earlier those left are mediocre at best.

Good post FF, but let's be honest, although we all feel an 'ownership' of our club in reality we have no control over its destiny whoever funds the show. All we can expect as Saints supporters are decent owners reflecting the ethos of the Corbetts and Ted Bates; a proud family tradition on the 'terraces' and a team that plays for the shirt with workrate, pride and flair. That is what we were brought up to appreciate and there is no reason to now expect any less.

As I see it RL attempted two conflicting strategies at the same time. 1 - Cost cutting - which required a manager able to put together a side with cheap players from lower divisions ( Not a Dutch manager with no UK player knowledge) 2 - Total ( Dutch ) football - which required an intelligent bunch of players able to move around a field like Ajax did the other day. Several of their team played in virtually every position during the game. ( Not kids starting out) As mentioned elsewhere we all foresaw disaster on here this time last year.

Davis, Harding... 9 to go.
-
7,000 in attendance for one of their club legends. Maybe we underestimate the size of our own club sometimes.
-
Unfortunately another youngster who has been allowed to play first team football with no ability to impose himself or to turn a game. Add to list with Lallana,Paterson, James, Gobern etc
-
At last. No more sloppy unfit BWP style reprobates.
-
In answer to the original question, both 'Lawrie and Leon' and 'Ex Directory' are signs on the fascia over the boxes, unless the signwriters haven't been in yet this season.
-
The first XI looked good against quality opposition. Once the subs came on it all fell apart a bit but a good run out. Desperately need forwards who can score - Leroy Lita ?
-
Has Rudi Skacel signed yet ?

Chez, Block 33 is a good location, next to the Northam we sometimes are even heard to sing 'We're the Kingsland' and of course the rowdy amongst us circumnavigated the four police dogs onto the pitch at the end of last season. None of the Northam yoof in here but a block away from the more sedate purveyors of the beautiful game with their thermoses and blankets ! Hope this helps. KR

Wow, we've no debt, a newish stadium, a wealthy owner, quality manager, all now in place. This is not a dream folks. Now put the current first team as reserves and we can start again with a decent keeper already in place. With a decent few signings it's looking positive.

Good manager at Reading, lost his way a bit at West Ham and Charlton. Not a bad appointment I reckon.
-
The team on the pitch has not adequately represented the club for the last few years anyway, so I can cope with one more game of passionless inept drivel . However then I would be disappointed if it's not onwards and upwards.
-
Another stick in the mud OP. Cheer up folks !
-
I agree with sussex saint, to get a return of any sort, Herr Liebherr needs to get the club into the Premiership asap. He would not have bought the club to fund a long period of stagnation in the lower leagues. Therefore I believe expectations should be relatively high.

I enjoyed the "We've got two point five billion" sung at Bournemouth to the "Paulo di Canio" tune.
-
Daily Mail - nuff said !
-
As a ticket didn't get a numbered seat the bovine Bournemouth stewards could have moved the black segregation thing long before they did. Anyway nobody seems to have picked up the highlight of the day: Fans behind the goal start singing 'It's all gone quiet over there" about five seconds before Paterson scores ! With regards to the match the Saints were tactically bankrupt.
-
If Murty was the lump going through the fitness tests at Bournemouth yesterday then I would suggest we could end up with a desperately slow back line.
-
Hard luck badgerx16!

Gillet and Perry, plus of course Kelvin. That's it today. Very poor.
