As noted, all due before 1st March, I wonder if HMRC and the beak will spot it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Presumably Pompey would have a tapering shortfall from £4m down in March, April and May until they have no players of any value left.
-
I mentioned it a few hundred posts ago (I love this thread) but I think the 1st March is a very astute date set by the beak. As well as giving them rope to hang themselves with the SoA and a lack of investors, the court date is also after the pay day and its associated cost. Wages, VAT,PAYE and NI of about £4.5m. That rope may also include a non-payment of wages for a 5th month, which would allow PFC to sign their own death certificate.

That's all right then WS! I feared they were tinkering: "It was planned to have arrived by 2pm, but having looked over what Vantis plc, the court appointed accountancy firm, had come up with they wanted a 'couple more things factored in', hence the further delay". http://www.portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=188602

I'm surprised that Pompey were permitted by Vantis to add a couple of additional pieces of information if Vantis have to defend the SoA in a court of law. Anyone for a game of chess?
-
Maybe Vantis have run out of comb binders or glossy covers. I'm sure that those Pompey directors that aren't promoting chess in some far flung place would have had the opportunity to read the final proof of the document this morning.
-
Glad Al Fahim's warrant has been issued in Dubai as this ties in nicely with John Terry and his missus, which is the only other off the pitch related story doing the rounds, that until the warrant, couldn't be linked to Pompey.
-
You have to hand it to 'Chairman' Al Fahim, his football club are furiously negotiating a way out of liquidation; his property company is accumulating debts at an interest rate of 9% a day and what is he doing - promoting the UAE's internationally renowned (?) chess industry in Moscow. I can't stop chuckling!

A FamiliarFace playing against us next week at Wycombe
Kingsland Red replied to John B's topic in The Saints
Ah, Davenport, Olivier Bernard never to be found in his left back position and Mr 20 minutes, Jamie Redknapp. There's a book there somewhere. -
If nothing happens this week after the SoA has been read, then PFC cannot be seen to default on February payments to their players , PAYE, NI and VAT or 1st March will not occur. That is probably another £4-5m ! Just noting the figures mentioned for the FA cup match from gate money, TV and winning, their outgoings massively exceed income.

With regard to point 1 I can confirm: The 'Fratton Goods Yard' Development was a three phase development. Phase 1 was moving the pitch ninety degrees and redeveloping Nottarf Krap. This obviously never started. Phase 2 I was involved with, it was developed out with a B&Q, a fast food restaurant and associated car parking. Phase 3 was also retail but was not started. It is the remaining land under the ownership of Gaydamak Sr / Chainrai.
-
It really is unbelievable that PFC has become the honeypot for international chancers. The only common thread is Mr Storrie.
-
And of course the tax, NI and VAT for February plus the wage bill are due before 1st March ! If it was £4.7m over 2 months (December / January) then that will be over £2m.

If P*mpey get wound-up on Friday :Poll:
Kingsland Red replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
It could be Friday as trading whilst insolvent is a legal issue. It is the HMRC financial case that is going to court on 1st March. As I posted in the lounge, if Vantis submitted a report to EPL then why did the EPL allow Pompey to bring in players? if they are fielding ineligible players then they should be kicked out. -
If PFC were trading during insolvency and the EPL have seen the Vantis report then they should never have allowed trading incoming players during the transfer window. O'Hara and Quincy are therefore ineligible players and Pompey should be kicked out as soon as the report has been read later this week. The fact that they cannot afford the rest of their team if insolvent also should not be ignored. The insolvency is a legal issue, the monies owed to HMRC is a financial issue. I believe that we have seen their last game.

Confirmation of what we already know (?) Taken from Fratton Faithful "Here is the take on what has happened off the pitch. Gaydamak sold to Al Fahim....who as we know didnt produce,he said he would take out sacha £30 odd million owed too. When it became apparant SAF was potless,Gaydamak regained control through Ali Al Faraj who actually was just a front man for Arcady Gaydamak. Gaydamak senior then proceeds to asset strip the club through Jacob and Azougy while laying out minimum to keep the club going,Storrie has by all accounts bitten of more than he can chew trying to do things a little less crudely than Gaydamaks liquidators....hence the rucking with Jacob. Chaineri was conned....plain and simple and is fuming with Gaydamak snr and wants out,Jacob and Azougy are out the door as Chaineri takes his charges on loans and control of the club. He is relying on Storrie for assistance. Gaydamak snr relinquished control the minute the window shut and defaulted on everything. Gaydamak snr is on the run in Russia as he is wanted in Israel and France. The Gaydamaks are now looking for a token payment on the £30 odd million outstanding as they have stripped the club bare. HMRC are conducting a criminal enquiry into the running of PFC That is from a very good source and as much as it may not be perfect I believe it." Not sure a return by Al Fahim would be well received by the Jurassic Park faithful few ? !!!

The Lounge thread covers the scenarion by the minute (!) for your info. However I found this little snippet on the Fratton Faithful which ties up with everything reported to date. Interesting ( understatement?) that Al Fahim is believed to be taking over !!! "Here is the take on what has happened off the pitch. Sheffield United (Stern John) and Norwich in the premier (Camara) spring to mind. Nothing will compare to the MLT Arsenal game at the Dell though for a fanatical 15 minutes.
-
Again for what it's worth, having followed the situation and being the principle of a business for the past 20 years working through such minefields, that is also my interpretation. If PFC have been trading insolvently (illegally) then they will be pulled once the HMRC have had time to review the Vantis report which is submitted on Wednesday.

With regards to pace of body and mind, I think it's also what the players are used to playing against week in, week out. I think youngsters like Lallana can greatly improve as the basics are in place. Examples being Saints 'rejects' such as Delap, Higginbotham,Kevin Davies or Fuller stepping up to a regular premier place; or Kenwynne Jones development at Sunderland after his second touch at Saints being a tackle.

Ricky Lambert corners and free kicks
Kingsland Red replied to Matthew Le Tissier's topic in The Saints
I totally agree with the OP. No criticism of Papa and Lallana but Ricky was given one chance today and scored. He has to be in the mixer with the others creating chances for him. I am sure we have others who can take the free kicks and corners picking out our goal machine. PS. As this is my only post match post , I was disappointed but still very proud today that for 70 minutes our team kept an expensively assembled ( way beyond Pompey's budget anyway) group of full internationals at bay. It all seems a bit unjust really. -
Exactly. Investors would live in the real world, would carry out due diligence including looking at the league table, buy the club in a few weeks, regroup and get them promoted again with the millions they've saved by not buying in the next week.
-
As Pompey will field premiership players, albeit unfairly as they cannot affford them, I would expect that they will move the ball quicker and have pace in all areas. We have home advantage, confidence, the ability for anyone to score and the crowd driving Saints on, and that is why I think Saints can pull off a surprise.
-
Irrrespective of the Vantis report based on current profit v loss accounts etc, I cannot understand why Storrie's investors would buy the club in its current state rather than wait a couple more weeks and buy it for millions less from the administrator.
-
I'm loving Peter Storrie still not appreciating being the situation. - The report by Vantis is detailing the ability for Pompey to pay off all debts in the agreed timescales ( not just HMRC). eg They were due to pay Gaydamak £8m at the end of last month. - The Vantis report on solvency is based on information available up to the High Court appearance. - Pompey are challenging HMRC on the purchasers ( of players ) paying VAT. As pointed out in court by the HMRC barrister, if Pompey believed the vendor should pay the VAT then they would be even worse off! All the HMRC have done is provided seven days of rope for Pompey to hang themselves. Priceless!!

I hope not, got a match at Liss Athletic, kick off 4pm !
