4-3 Huddesfield - not what was wanted.

Well , the silly season is upon us. Here's hoping Saints storm through the next few games whilst others lose it. COYR

I love the way Pompey are putting everything on tic anticipating some wealthy nutter will be released from an asylum and matron will permit him to buy a football club. Next up Richard Hughes: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8616728.stm

I thought Swindon were the best team we've played this season by some, a very controlled team, comfortable in possession and able to absorb pressure. Good luck to them.

Good article in the Times: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/article7085267.ece (Nice they put us up a division.)

Looking at the scores today the silly season has started, where teams in the top positions suddenly get the jitters and have their poor run. We've had ours long ago. If, and it's a big if, we can win six and draw one , ie drop 5 points, I reckon we may be 7th. With a bit of luck with other teams results this could be 6th.

Just done the BBC predictor thing again. Like alki in Korea says, Colchester are on a poor run but Huddesfield are far better placed than us. By my reckoning I think we will be painfully close finishing 7th.

Martin Butler played for Reading a few years ago.

Mischievous OP. From where I sat / stood (sorry !) I saw AP punch the air after every goal, hug NC and ML, Take a flag and waved it at the end of the Royal Box platform. he is a cool customer, controlled, and speaks with authority, he is also appreciated by the fans. Just what we've needed for years. Alan Pardew' Red and White Army

I agree, our best team and subs bench since we dropped out of the Premiership. Even better, I trust AP's team selection and he doesn't disappoint. Haven't been able to say that since WGS, and even then he had his favourites.

Had friends who had to get a taxi from Winchester as they watched trains sail past.Five persons at £26 each (on top of the unused train fare) We drove to Reading and got the 10.01 to Paddington, four stops and one change from Wembley Park and guarenteed seats all the way.

I'm with NickH here on the West Hampshire utopian uplands, worshipping at the shrine of St Marcus, and wondering why, with so few fans, they tried to compete with us in the first place.
-
Sang the 'Saints are coming' and cheered Stuart Dennis (? - St Marys pitch announcer blokey) Very strange, but it was that sort of a day !!
-
Look at the money Pompey have wasted trying to compete with us since their last administration ten years ago !
-
Can't find it posted and just back after a brilliant day - first trophy I've seen Saints win after 22 years ! Thank you Markus, Nicola and Alan. Great moment as AP goes along the 'royal box' platform and hugs NC. Hopefully will now shut the media up and they accept that a CEO is employed to demand results, rather than the media make mischief. Proud of the Saints family.

I'm going to have to do the whole thing again. Leeds, Millwall, Swindon and Norwich are over the horizon but Colchester and Charlton are dropping more points than I predicted !
-
Looked about 75 but official number was 175 I believe.
-
More home fans at St Marys last night against the mighty Hartlepool than at FP tonight- attendances 18,072 inc about 175 'Pool fans, and 18,753 tonight including Chelsea's support. The Blue Few indeed !

This thread has reached page 442, and is much better and informative than the magazine of the same name. 6345789, that's my number.

Bond & Co, Leigh Road Eastleigh. Very reasonably priced and always deal quickly with phonecall queries, I've used them for the last 20 years. 02380 611389 saints season ticket holders

The Russian transfer window is still open. Pompey have people on the ground there - Al Fahim is playing chess.

Martin Samuel, Daily Mail on Coretese: "self serving" and a "buffoon"
Kingsland Red replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I get the impression that the 'Old Boys' club consisting of MLT, Lawrie Mac, Channon, Leon Crouch, Benali etc are all a bit put out by ML and NCs disregard for them and their decision to start again. I have heard stories involving all of them and all revolving around NC being a very shrewd businessman accommodating no free loaders. -
Half of Wembley in red and white - can't wait. COYR

Adequate performance without being stretched at any point. Not sure what Spiderman's injury (?) is. Punscheon excellent after half time, Lambo is quality. Excellent 'Pool goal. All in all a non-stressful and enjoyable night.

I would seriously consider slaughtering you for such a comment.
