RIP fellow Kingslander and condolences to his son and family. As a 49 year old with my 17 year son, a bit close to home. The accident on the M3 closed all 3 lanes and we had to pass on the hard shoulder. The roof and window supports were sawn off the car and it had a 'screen' over it. Looked grim. Hopefully not another Saints casualty.

SAINTS CELEBRATE 125 YEARS at the Mayflower Feb 13th 2011
Kingsland Red replied to mel1961red's topic in The Saints
According to the Echo, James Beattie was there (having been on the bench for Blackpool during the afternoon) and LM got a lifetime achievement award !!!! Who from if the Ex Saints didn't arrange the event ? http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/8850220.Saints__125th_birthday_is_celebrated_in_style/?ref=mr -
Totally disagree with the booing, but the lad's first touch was clumsy today.

Minor problem in the grand scale of things but their club captain cant get back into the country !!! http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/bygone-blues/defender_ruled_out_for_doncaster_clash_1_2399307 You couldn't make it up. P*ss poor preparation and all that

As mentioned earlieer, that's because he is on loan. Wait until you give him a contract, then what we call the 'Saganowski Factor' creeps in.

Another Lawrie Mac story so take it or leave it: Lowe asked the incumbent goalkeeper coach ( GBs) if they were aware of the keeper at Spurs (Forecast) and recommended they should go and watch him. The coach stated that it was his job to know of all young and highly rated keepers and that he could recommend many others. He didn't go and watch Forecast. Lowe then signed him on a 5 year contract.....

Exeter 1 - 2 Saints - Post Match Reaction

That's better, a show of intent, to be off the game, turn it around and come from behind and win at the end is far more impressive than cruising through games, these are the games in which the team has to grind out results, week in week out from now on to get promoted. COYR -
I watched the game with 28,000 Saints fans in a stadium tonight, and was very proud see my team play a composed game, confident in possession and with some quality forward play. Thank you NA, NC and dear Markus. COYR

Chris is a strong veterans tennis player these days and has just lost in the Over 55s atthe National Championships at Dudley (Yes it is him ) http://lta.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/player.aspx?id=D2CA1642-EDF7-45D7-858D-FFC7F7C7D484&player=266

Watching JP I like the player but from reading the various comments over the last few weeks, it seems to me JP is a very high maintenance player who occasionally gives you a good game, but a fair amount of disruption, hence he is always on the move as a journeyman. He's certainly not a consistent player who gives an average 7 out of 10 every week and is therefore difficult for a manager to fit into a game plan. Probably an impact player who could add something different off the bench. That seems to be where NC is with him. So in NC speak he's in the rotating door of the lobby of the building but certainly not on the bus.

So if they are breaking even then SC needs to sell before he can buy. Has anyone down there told him yet ?

Best situation with Howe/Tindall out of the equation with either Bompey maintaining their good record or Charlton having a surge under their management. COYR

I agree. It's always easier to answer the same old media questions with cliched answers. At this level Ron, this is what it's all about etc.

I still think Blackpool were a little unambitious in not trying to win both games. It's a very recent thing, this paranoia arising from the poor pampered Premiership players playing too many games. And in an era when the players are so well protected from the modern day Ron Harris or Tommy Smith ( albeit I struggle to think of a modern equivalent).

We are on the bus, say we are on the Bus !

Any thoughts Mr Holloway ? What a response to, erm, trying to win a cup game, silly old Saints !

Oldham V Saints - Post Match Celebration Thread
Kingsland Red replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Awesome. Look forward to hearing comment from those that were able to make the trip. COYR -
In fairness he's their only thread (on here) so far, but it's early doors SG !! Looked good the whole game although Richardson's cheap booking meant he could not be so closely attended.

Ormerod was a workhorse with us but I couldn't understand the booing of the Mule. However I always felt comfortable today with the pair of them up front, barn doors and banjos etc.

Spiderman stood out today. His reading of the game and the timing of his tackling was class!

Saints 2 - 0 Blackpool - Post match reaction
Kingsland Red replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
With only 8 changes we totally demolished a premiership 'shadow' side. Awesome. Dare I suggest we're a bigger club than Blackpool with better strength in depth. COYR -
Brilliant news - a great signing. COYR

Sometimes you have to put youngsters on the bench when they're not quite ready Mr Cotterill, or field a whole team of them like Mr Poortvielt was forced to do.

Apart from the first 20 minutes, when our centre backs never got the hang of defending the space behind them , I thought we were awesome - great game. Guly was excellent except when faced with scoring a goal ! COYR
