  1. As always, right on the button !
  2. This I'm afraid.
  3. The Sun is not a newspaper, it fabricates stories. Why would Lambo throw away a great season at St Marys, hopefully in the league and cup, to enter a relegation fight with a club that plays no football ?
  4. He was there (we sat behind the bench area). Unlike Dyche etc,the Saints bench stayed seated the whole game.
  5. We didn't even notice until Lallana came on for, erm, no one , and heard the substitution announcement, such was his impact on the game.
  6. Had the pleasure (?) of sitting on the opposite side of the ground in amongst a load of day-trippers and within ear shot of The Moose from Talksh*te, as we walked up and our season ticket seats had gone. Also near Dave Merrington and never realised how enormous Adam Blackmore is. Strange game, no real challenges and therefore plenty of good possession football from both sides. Vokes and Ings were strong up front and dominated our centre backs. Otherwise I thought we had control. Too many attacks broke down at Ramirez. Never a tense game as we looked likely to score every time we attacked, albeit so did Burnley. Entertaining, an enjoyable afternoon, and maybe that's what the cup is all about.
  7. The decision was poor as he put his right hand up to cover the ball after it deflecting off his left hand. However the reported comment is hardly libellous, slanderous or defamatory so the whole thing is a waste of time. I tend to agree with Lineker.
  8. I agree Roger, we will never have a better season to focus on a decent FA Cup run, even after today we are 4 points above 10th. Probably more relevant is 6 points beneath 8th so mid table obscurity this year.
  9. Beaten by the better team and tactician today. We now go into a spell with plenty of winnable games and should be comfortable enough to give the FA Cup a good go - here's hoping.
  10. I'm sure the sprinklers will be on at 2.50pm as usual !
  11. Season ticket holders are generally included, having paid ,whether they attend or not. As P*mpey gave hundreds away, their attendance figure is boosted.
  12. Shaw was obviously asked to play further up the pitch today with the centre backs covering in behind. if that's Gash then football is the loser.
  13. Very unlucky to lose, but in the game from start to finish - well done Saints.
  14. Perfectly adequate today
  15. Glast 2013 - OK , not special.
  16. Saw them at Glasto 2011 and 2013. Good but samey after a coupe of songs….
  17. Whatever happens at Everton, we will be in 9th place at the half way point of the season. We are currently two wins clear of 10th place but maybe not consistent enough to stay with those above us. So we're in a little league of our own, but with 13 points to the magic forty, maybe in a position where we can play with a freedom and kick on. Here's hoping, it's been a thoroughly enjoyable season so far; and on our day the football is great to watch - Hull and today being examples of the freedom of movement and quality of passing, with no weight on the players' shoulders. I don't think the players will get casual so, as a minimum, hopefully we can pass at least Newcastle for a top 8 finish.
  18. A starting XI with none of our 2013 big signings, incredible confidence and togetherness from the team today. Class !
  19. Just reviewed the team. This is the first time this season we have fielded a team with not one summer signing. For that 45 minutes we didn't look bad at all .
  20. … as does Shaw.
  21. Strange decision based on one win against a severely weakened defensive line. Maybe no other suitable coach available. Can he do better than other internal appointments like our own Wigley and Gray ? With Levy, and Hoddle on the prowl, he'll certain be under scrutiny from the off.
  22. Many 'covert' Spurs fans in the Kingsland today.
  23. I am still able to stomach losing to Spurs and other top half clubs , as the home defeats to Rochdale and Brentford are still fresh in my mind, but I do wonder how NC is coping. As expected, the gap between the top 6 and the rest in the top division is far greater than any differences between the various leagues and I wonder if he is still as confident a provincial team can bridge it with youth rather than an expensively assembled squad from all parts of the football world.
  24. Read somewhere in The Snooze the Skates want George McFly as their next manager. They would be better with Phil Connors, as their track record suggest they have little chance of getting it right first time. Happy days !
  25. Legendary sports commentator, with his own Private Eye parody, Colemanballs. My favourite quote was about Cuban athlete Alberto Juantorena in the 1976 Montreal Olympics: "… and there goes Juantorena, he opens his legs and shows his class"
