I agree Yakin ,but a statement of intent would also be Benitez or Mancini now we are the best opportunity in the league. A Hughton, Maclaren ,Mackay type journeyman would not be well received by the Kingsland Red Family. !

This system fails: Pompey couldn't afford Shaw at £30m or survive the FFP rules - he's worth more than they are.

For once I appear to be ITK. (At a charity meal last night at St Marys with various inc MLT). Apparently no approach for Poch as yet and he is working with Les Reed on the squad for next season.

I'm with MLT later at a charity function, I will ask !

I did the Mexico 70 one and got so fed up with accumulating swapsies as I got down to the last 20 that my parents completed the album by writing to the (pre Panini) manufacturers and getting the missing cards.

Cortese speaking to BBC for first time since leaving Saints
Kingsland Red replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Interesting that there is a contradiction between NCs comment that the previous (original) 'Project' finished in April 2012,achieving promotion to the Premier League and a new one put in place; and Poch's comments about awaiting board comment about the new 'Project', suggesting the board have something else in mind. -
I thought that was the manager's role in a football club. The present Saints fans' idea that only an improvement in the league position is acceptable and never consolidation, is only because of our last 'project' which was needed to get us back to where we were when Strachan left. Like Charlton Athletic under Curbishley, when the fans wanted change, be careful what you wish for.

Therein lies the problem with taking NC seriously, he had no money, just played with the Liebherr funding and like a good banker hopefully made them a profit ! Who's to say RK etc are not open to offers for players, they have told us as much ? I also do not believe this present squad is good enough to break into the next level without significant investment, which , at this moment , may or may not happen. -
Maybe NC had the 'project' and drive to see it through, but he never spent a penny of his own money, that was Markus and then KL. For that reason KL has my 'support', although I agree with earlier posts that we need to be self sufficient as a club and not depend on further financial input. We are now about where we have been over the last 40 years, give or take a few ups and a major down - a good provincial club taking points off the bankrolled (but heavily in debt) top clubs.

Last week Lallana and Shaw were on a week's break before travelling out to Portugal for pre world cup training; Krueger was working for German TV and St Marys was probably a ghost town. No different from any other first week of the summer. Unfortunately the media still have to work and the Premier League is the new Royal Family for the open season of gossip and speculation for those that need their fix.

Adam Blackmore @bigadamsport: For the record I did not say there are strong reports of a new Poch deal at #saintsfc - what I said was "in response to rumours a new deal for Poch, the answer I got when asking someone near club was there was no imminent news on anything.Bad enough a news agency taking my tweet & turning into a lucrative piece for them In the Mirror, now I'm being mis-quoted . Calm down

Poch has succeeded at Espanyol and here because the expectations were pretty relaxed, despite managing such a top class group of players. At Tottenham, managing a diverse bunch of egos, he would be expected to get wins week in week out, including mid week Europa League. I'm not sure his lack of a plan B in matches would suit Mr Levy's patience over a season.

United fans set up some background drone that went on for ages in the second half like a 'white' background noise. It was a noise to obliterate all other noise but did nothing for the atmosphere. Saints fans were obviously pacing themselves for the excellent reception the team got on their lap of appreciation. Hats off to the Northam sending a clear message to Poch, Shaw and Lallana.

This whole thread is bizarre: The OP querying why the owner doesn't pay herself in sponsorship and the ignorance about Markus / Liebherr / MALI etc that has been recycled on here dozens of times. This forum is getting as lazy as the journalists in recycling crap.

Our Board of Directors have completely lost the plot
Kingsland Red replied to dubai_phil's topic in The Saints
I've wondered that for years , one of the great mysteries since we moved to St Marys. -
Well, as long as we don't do a Charlton Athletic and are 'careful what we wish for', hopefully, we will spend the next few years banging on the door of the top six. We are now at the head of the queue at that revolving door, which is clearly something not as clearly defined as just getting up the leagues. Enjoy the ride !
