Swansea chairman also not happy about Liverpool's approaching players : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2688688/Huw-Jenkins-slams-Liverpool-making-Wilfried-Bony-without-permission.html

Things could be worse - your memories of 2007-2009

David McGoldrick's languid run up to stroke yet another penalty wide/into the keeper. Seemed like a weekly occurrence at the time. Jake Thomson, our slowest ever winger Lloyd James "controlling" the midfield. Realising I still had six matches to watch to justify having a season ticket. Useless Safri Desperate times. -
Thank you Markus !

The point being that the ambition has not changed, it is the dropping of the NC bullsh*t , i.e. the information fed by NC to incoming players, that has changed. The team being better than the sum of the players still is the case, and I do not think Koeman would have come here if the ambition had changed significantly. I think Saints fans realised the NC ambition to break into the top 4 (6?) would prove to be very difficult, as about 5 or 6 clubs try and displace the established 4 (6?), but with lesser resources. Saints approach in producing academy players has put them in a better position, but it is still a long way from displacing established global brands. And lets face it - Liverpool will not win the CL with a team full of Saints players !

The attitude of our outgoing players is strange. Ignoring the comment made on this forum that they are just dim I cannot understand their interpretation of the current situation. Cortese's ploy in selling a club aiming for the CL realistically is no different from where we are now. Football is still determined by playing 11 v 11 on a field. It has not yet been replaced by league tables based upon wealth of the owners or the bull sh*t of the marketing man. The players' squad attitude make a team better than the sum of its individual parts. To my mind Ronald Koeman is potentially a far better manager than Pochettino was potentially. However, despite the club's statement of intent in getting Koeman; players like Lovren and Spiderman still think the club lack the ambition of NC/MP. This is a nonsense. Should we also not be factoring in that the club should not need to expend as much as their competitors on new players, as this would stifle the transition of players from the academy, a source of players that apparently other clubs do not have or wish to implement.

Tough start at the Etihad, but hopefully the Citeh players will be world-cupped out !

Zone Creations, based in Wimbledon ?

Brilliant news. Onwards and upwards ( as we were led to believe by Krueger and Reed a few weeks ago, but why stop a good conspiracy theory of football club sabotage / asset stripping etc in the intervening period) COYR

OK, Joel Campbell ?

The Echo has caught up: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/11278679.Saints_make_contract_offer_to_Koeman/?ref=var_0

Good interview, very positive and good the club is thorough in its due diligence . The club directors' perception of Saints as a world top 20 club may be too much for many to accept. Still enjoying the ride !

On the bench….
-
Whilst I agree he got rid of us, I was wondering if we would ever crack the "park the bus" sides; and the Cardiff match proved to me Poch struggled with a Plan B. Now the other Premier League managers have had a season of playing against a Poch side, I do wonder if his team, whoever they may be will not be caught out with balls behind the full backs and getting between the lines this coming season.

Graziano Pelle ?
-
This is what we need , lots of sightings of potential managers in and around the city.
-
Delighted to report Shaw is sitting on the back row of the bench, next to Oxo, and not at Old Trafford.
-
We are certainly building up a war chest for the incoming manager to construct his own team !

To Renew or not to Renew ..........
Kingsland Red replied to Bourne Valley Saint's topic in The Saints
Can't see the problem - spent years on the waiting list for a season ticket at the Dell, have had 3 for the family at St Marys since we moved ,and apart from the Double Dutch season have never been disappointed. Premier League football again - it's ago brainer for the stalwarts. -
I would imagine the Lambert fee gets loaded to keep the Lallana fee, and therefore the Bournemouth sell-on figure, down.
-
I blame Cortese - if he had progressed the club in a more sustainable way, within the budget he was given and managed, he would still be with us. Unfortunately, he went power mad, making crass statements and promises, whilst losing the bigger picture and failing to bring in big sponsorship deals etc. He also sanctioned Osvaldo, who did not fit the standard Saints player profile - under 22 years old and intelligent. However, moving forward, all we need are a few rumours of us making bids for some ridiculously good players and the SWF returns back from meltdown. Oh, and I totally agree with Dubai Phil's post - RK is a big global player with a big reputation which is built on trust.

No mention of Remi Garde ?

Roger Roger, I guess I picked the wrong day to give up drinking !

Spot on.
