  1. It seems all clubs in the Premier League now sing the same songs from the Great Premier League Songbook, OWTS being probably the best example. When I found myself wandering home after the Clattenburg Show humming that Giroud / Payet song, to the tune of Achy Breaky Heart, by Billy Ray Cyrus, I tried to get a Saints midfield / attacking player into it, but struggled - Classie, Romeu? It must be possible... We've got {player's surname} {player's full name} I just don't think you understand He's {team manager}'s man He's better than Zidane We've got {player's full name}
  2. Positivepete, - 53 points, not 51: We had 24 points after 19 games. Using 24 points as our second half 'total' we have gained / lost the following: Norwich -3; Watford +2; West Brom +2, Man U +3; Arsenal -2; West Ham +3 29 points QED
  3. Top man. Pulled us out of the perceived downward spiral with aplomb.
  4. Great closing down , quick breaks albeit wasteful, and Fraser back at his commanding best. COYR
  5. No trains from Basingstoke to Eastleigh tomorrow evening after the match , except via Guildford, Havant and Fareham... http://mobile.usablenet.com/mt/www.southwesttrains.co.uk/WinchesterMZengineeringwork2016.aspx?un_jtt_v_month=yes
  6. Been to various islands over the years. Would recommend somewhere near Fiskardo on Kefalonia, Skopelos in the Aegean or NE coast of Corfu.
  7. Fantastic start for Charlie Austin COYR
  8. Papa Waigo...
  9. Hopefully now Charlie Austin has joined, his goals will make the whole set up seem better. We have not had a striker who can score goals from nothing on a regular basis since, dare I say, Kevin Phillips. Add to that the numerous chances as a team we do create, and the momentum of the last couple of games should last longer into the season that the previous years since our return to the Premier League. Here's hoping...
  10. As the WBA subs were running back and forth across the pitch at HT, the Northam sung to him, and the Kingsland were applauding him. He clapped back a few times !
  11. Now that's a better solution Saints. A statement of intent.
  12. DiS - were Bolton or Birmingham not in the Premier League when Jaidi was with them ?
  13. Totally agree.
  14. We don't live in the ganglands of Sarf London...
  15. I know this has been discussed on here before, but before today's game I commented to my son that any home advantage had gone by again moving the home support in the Northam to accommodate the Palace fans. ( The Itchen North and Kingsland / Northam corner housing the stalwarts and diluting the noise) Watching Saints away we are the crap on the shoes of the hosts - up in the clouds at Newcastle, in a lower tier at West Ham, under a press box at Spurs, in a corner at Arsenal etc, etc. It would be good if the club could at least make the away support turn a corner. How about the Kingsland / Northam corner with the bridge exit closed instead of the North car park after the match?
  16. Point taken FF, maybe a bit harsh as an OP, but as of now we need a confidence booster short term, Sam is maybe one for the future.
  17. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20160106-sam-gallagher-southampton-mk-dons-loan-2887201.aspx Is this our solution for the lack of forwards / goals? I hope not ....
  18. Gardos,then there's Sammy Lee….
  19. Football is cyclical. For the last few seasons we have always finished above the previous season's final placing. This season we will, in all likelihood, finish lower. We have come a long way from watching the team losing a league game against Rochdale at home; or going into meltdown whilst the 10 men put up the barricade against Sheffield United to stay in the championship. We are also better than we were during those seemingly endless years when we were around the relegation zone all season. As supporters we cannot afford to fund or influence decisions, so why not enjoy the ride. Whatever the current incumbents do, we are Southampton and proud, and for that I can live with the occasional point drought.
  20. Exactly.
  21. VVD, Romeu, Wanyama, Steven Davis, Pelle and Mane all live within about half a mile of each other in Winchester, they're obviously often out and about.
  22. Easy to vote on these. He got 34%
  23. ….. until Saturday...
