23:05 train from Waterloo after the Arsenal gane
Kingsland Red replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
Public transport is very poor when extra numbers are involved, ie football matches, so cunning plans are required. For North London clubs try via Reading and into Paddington. -
Arsenal 0-2 Saints - Reaction & Semi Final Draw

Fantastic win , spot on with the tactics, Claude; and we finished a couple of chances. -
They are probably top because some quality players cannot get past Koeman's glass ceiling for anyone outside his chosen 18.

I'm a bit further up the supply chain - I see it more like buying and cooking from the untarnished ingredients instead of buying a ready meal / take away with unnecessary additives....

Lazy in that they bring in ready made players, so others have done the hard graft and they benefit from someone's chequebook. Therefore they need spend less time working on the day to day hard graft improving the players on the training ground.

In football there will always be coaches who are good at both the man management and technical improvement of young enthusiastic players (Adkins, Puel, Poch). There are also those who prefer to spend vast sums to accumulate over paid journeymen in their late twenties when undertaking their annual lottery of trying to make a team of the sum of it's parts. Mourinho and Koeman come to mind in adopting this somewhat lazy approach. I prefer The Southampton Way and days like yesterday make me proud of our club.

So good our right back played twice !

This is what we thought. Wondered if Justin Gladys would find the off button before kick off. At least we could hear Kenzie pitch side !

There are some that will go and support the team come what may, then there are those that travel with expectations. Those of us who have followed Saints (and probably any other club ) for many years, end up somewhere in the middle. I go to matches, let my feelings be known and hate a lack of effort for the shirt. However, for many years now, probably since the media (Sky) started taking an interest in the player merry go round more than the matches , I have no expectations of the overpaid individuals on the field wearing our shirt with pride. Sadly it is our badge, and the players we try to relate to are just on a circuit which spirals them up to those that pay the most, unless they fall by the wayside.

That was as bad as Sheffield United in the League Cup, and that was turgid stuff. -

Very expensive road trips for not one goal... -
A little gem from the commentary on Celtic v Barca tonight, after Messi got his second, was the last player to get a hat trick for the away team at Celtic Park was Eric Black of Aberdeen. Presumably the same Eric as our assistant coach .

Great experience for the lads, Terry, Fabregas, Zouma, Batshuayi and Van Ginkel, that's half a team packed with international experience.

I think you will find his wife is still living locally, and is not, as posted by Katalinic, whiter than whiter...

Today we needed what the NFL pundits call the D Fence, and wow , ours were great.

So, other than Bloomberg noting the suspension of Lander shares, they have nothing to report due to the club and Katrina, quite rightly in a period of exclusivity, not responding to their calls. It is hard to see any benefit for a company as small as Lander spending all their money buying a club, then investing rather than asset stripping....

Never been so certain Saints would win a game as that Everton match, one of the best days.

There'e a little fellow on the touchline we all know...

Inter Milan - Away Programme (San Siro) - Counterfeit?
Kingsland Red replied to St Louis's topic in Saints Away Supporters
I got a much hated 'Inter Official' half and half scarf for the wall ( could never wear it !!) -
Very rarely ITK, but Pelle was a neighbour. He was told by the club he would not be offered an extension due to his age. As posted before, he wanted to stay and was happy at the club.
