I am genuinely sorry to Alpine this thread up, but I don't find contract extensions/payrises reassuring at all. For instance, the last Southampton contract Lallana signed would still be active had he not left. Likewise Shaw would still be with us for the next two seasons.

It's more a promotional tag for the general state of affairs of Western Europe. You're thinking small. I think we should ban Spurs from playing at St. Mary's full stop. The 3 points from the game should be automatically awarded to us as compensation for the indignation we have suffered at their hands in the transfer market. This is to be in effect for the next 4 home fixtures against them. I would also be open to enforcing this policy on Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and anyone else who has unfairly purchased Southampton players in the last couple of years.
