itchen replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Any news on this thread or is it just tedious Alpine trolling? -

I'm a man in late middle age but am as excited as a 12 year old today. Please don't let me down Saints.

Who is to blame for the Summer of inactivity?
itchen replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
I genuinely hope that they all were on a wind up. If not, I hope the rest of their daily lives aren't as miserable and negative as those aspects involving Southampton FC. But, come the next transfer window, they'll be there again with the same whining wind-uppery. Mind you, I don't think we'll be doing much buying come January after this superb summer of quality coming in and the tying down of our existing stars on long contracts, -
I believe Turkish is quite happy with his own company.

Isn't Ramirez still suspended at the beginning of the season? -
Glad I only clicked on the last page of this thread. I thought it might be real news but it turns out it's just the usual bores being boring. Still,I suppose they enjoy it. Bless.

Are we wasting time going for unrealistic transfer targets ?
itchen replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
There you go again. Coming on this forum talking sense. We're not ready for it, you know. Honestly, people can sign players on their computers at a click of a mouse. Why can't our club do the same? Here I am running my multi-million pound business empire and still finding time to post all day on here yet those clowns running our club can't even bring in international footballers. It's a disgrace I tell you. I blame Cortese. And Reed. And Pochettino. And Francis Benali. And Mark Lawrenson. It's a conspiracy of incompetence. -
I knew all 4 mayors in that period. I don't think any of them were you. I sometimes wonder if you always tell the truth...

I was a councillor in the 90s (though not mayor). I never heard of this perk.

And also a Man Utd supporter.

ß He liked the old posters. No shame in that.

My Facebook page has suddenly filled up with Australian Saints supporters saying we've signed Miroslav Stoch. I don't portend to be ITK. I don't even know who he is. Anyone her know anything about it?
-
Hope the real posters have an apostrophe in "It's".

I can see why players want to have agents. What I can't see is why anyone other than the player has to pay them. Theatrical and movie agents negotiate deals for their clients and take a percentage of their clients' fees for their trouble. Why is football different?
-
I was wondering how a thread about a player we have not signed could run to twenty pages. Then I saw it was just the usual suspects trolling each other. Honestly, guys, get a room and let the rest of us stay on topic.

BBC R4 "The last word" - on the life of Ron Davies this Friday
itchen replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
The half hour programme (usually very interesting even if you've never previously heard of the deceased person) is normally split between 4 - 6 subjects. Good that they're acknowledging Ron at all, though. -
Why have you never mentioned this before?

This is the real Michael Owen. But is he as good as the Latvian one?

God I hope they're brighter than that

Breaking news sky sports - Pochettino will leave if NC quits
itchen replied to Made in Southampton's topic in The Saints
Look you've got to understand Alpine's position. He's having to come to terms with a manager whose aim is almost the same as the one he bangs on about every year. That is, we should get all our signings done early. Along comes a manager who says that he aims to have them done by July 1st where the other club and the player agree (yes I know Alpine would prefer June 1st). Now, Alpine and club in full agreement is very difficult for him to handle and so he is having, like Nicola, to consider his position. How can he be on the outside trolling away in Austria if the manager agrees with him? It's a major change. Yes, this week's news has cast some uncertainty over that plan. I know no more than what I read in the papers. But rather than selectively quote MP ("I'll leave if NC leaves") why not also take into account his plans for meetings, early signings and that he fully expects both himself and NC to be here next season.?
