What was it - 6 goals in 4 games on his debut? It is a shame we don’t play to his strengths, because he is quality. Doesn’t get the type of service he needs, and doesn’t fit our current direct style.

Those are the main reasons, yes. He played dull, defence-first football, and the players did indeed underperform under his management. Hughes may not be a world beater, but he kept us up last season, and deserves at least half a season off the back of that achievement.
