  4. Linehan is back on Twitter. Some interesting pieces..
  5. He’ll be off soon enough. Not a world beater but the best player we have by an order of magnitude, which says it all about this dog turd of a team.
  6. Looking forward to the championship. If I’m going to be served this shit at least it should be at a discount.
  7. No fucking water. On top of no trains, no post, no ambulances and no nurses. This country’s a fucking mess.

    Rail Strike

Supposed to be going to a work Xmas party in Leeds on 13th. Can’t be arsed. This is a great excuse. Thanks train monkeys!
  9. Brilliant!
  10. Awesome goal. Bellingham has been best player so far.

  12. I know it’s a cliche now but he’s fucking terrible.
  13. Thought he was one of the better players last night. Not supported and constantly needed to get involved in MF / defence due to lack of energy behind him. Needs a strong MF supporting him. Had nothing.
  14. I work with a lot of Americans. I was hoping that this game would highlight the beautiful elements of the game in their eyes. In reality, it demonstrated the worst; crabby defensive play. No movement, no options, just knocking it about at the back. Yeah, we didn’t lose but the lack of ambition was frustrating.
  15. You got 500 quid for that. not exactly a deposit. The choice would be adding to it for them. One of my kids got it, other missed out. we made the choice to set up one for him. I don't disagree that luck plays its part, but so does judgement.
  16. Bought my first flat in 2001 in Winchester, straight out of uni. I was earning 11k a year with no deposit. At this point, self-certified mortgages were easily obtainable (@8%). Didn’t have a car or foreign holiday for years, walked to work in town. But I paid my mortgage religiously. Self-certificated mortgages were a fantastic way to achieve property ownership if you were financially disciplined. Unfortunately, too many people exploited it to live beyond their means, as we saw in 2008. Don’t believe these exist anymore.
  17. Don't be ridiculous, that barely covers one new car. And even then you'd still need to scrimp on the options. Also 100k deposit would still require a 95% mortgage on any house worth buying, so why bother?

    Coronavirus

Been feeling rough since Sunday. Just took a leftover test as I’ve not had Covid before. Turns out I’ve got it. I assume it’s thanks to the 3 jabs I had, but symptoms are pretty mild. Sore throat, tired. No shivers or high temp. Much less problematic than actual flu. At least I can say I’ve had it now. This bout will hopefully act as my booster!
  19. Was at the game, not been for a while. Good first half, appalling second half. 4 fucking subs at once tells me he’s lost the plot. It was a mess. Wham could have scored 5 with better finishing. also the ground has got quieter if you can believe it. I guess people have nothing to get excited about.
  20. So, torys eh? Fucking mess eh? I’d assume Liz & Kwazi are LDH’s wet dream come true. So what’s gone wrong? 🤨

most are either Russian protectorates or significant beneficiaries of the belt and road initiative, but yes we should if aid exists.

  23. Low taxes & high interest rates will bring investment cash into the uk in the medium term. A weak pound will make those trying to sell uk based services more competitive. Don’t get me wrong, all of the above will no doubt be disastrous for the majority of workers over the short to medium term, but he’s certainly made a play; the objective being to put us in a advantageous position in the 3-5 yr horizon. Banking on a shallow recession I assume. Horrible short term prospects generally, although I see a lot of happy contractors celebrating the demise of IR35.

    Russia

The very fact that a mass exodus is in process refutes your argument. I work with many Russians who have luckily escaped to Turkey. These are gifted individuals who could easily have been thrown into the meat grinder. Conscription is disgraceful. Nationalism only has value if people WANT to buy into it. As soon as you force involvement, you move beyond democracy.

    Russia

My Russian colleagues have confirmed they are moving today, along with the majority of the Russian male population it would seem. This can't go on much longer, the country is emptying. I just don't see what structure exists to take power from the tyrant. The military is the only option it seems, but they haven't shown any interest. I hope they don't close the borders, but if they do, we may see a popular uprising sooner thank expected.
