If I was offered 100%, I wouldn’t refuse. If I was offered £2.5k a month I would refuse and and take my 3 months severance. However in my role, this is likely a moot point. I was simply making the point that many may not appreciate this is by mutual agreement and believe it’s a mandatory requirement.

Good luck, hope all is ok. We have some retail customers who have furloughed the majority of their staff, but all have had their pay made up to 100% by the employer. I believe as an employee you have the right to refuse, which would leave the business needing to either retain you, renegotiate your role, or serve you notice. Some of these options may be preferable dependant in the furlough package you are offered.

Christ almighty. Everyone is doing what they can to avoid infection, this hasn’t been disputed. I’m washing my hands after taking in the post, just like probably every other person in the country. Nobody suggested intentionally infecting themselves, simply that mild infection is how vaccines work. Do you not believe this is true? Licking infected people? What the fûck are you on about?

The concept of viral load has already been widely discussed. It's very likely that a low dose may induce mild symptoms and immunity. Its not a DIY vaccination, he's just stating a fact. https://www.newscientist.com/article/2238819-does-a-high-viral-load-or-infectious-dose-make-covid-19-worse/

  8. Yes please, we have some quotes but always happy to get a recommendation. Think I might hang on for 12 months now either way.
  9. We were in the early stages of planning a new kitchen and have just remortgaged (1st April). Kitchen is on hold but thankfully now I have a large chunk of change sat in one of my accounts, which makes me very happy given the current climate. Luckily I’m still working as normal, but you never know.
  10. Sat in the bath. Radio 4 was miserable so I switched to Spotify and am now listening to James Taylor. Very relaxing Also halfway through Himalayas with Michael Palin. Absolutely fantastic.

I thought the shops were starting to recover? Not been out for a week and will need to do a supply run soon. Luckily we have butcher / baker close, but I’m going to need toilet rolls at some point soon :/

Yes I was saying yesterday I’m glad we have 2. They scrap like hell but at least they are occupied. We also have a dog which helps alleviate the boredom!

How about deliveries? Royal Mail / DHL etc. Will these carry on or be suspended do we think? No, I’m not concerned about any bloody Amazon orders, just trying to gauge the scale!

How about services that support key workers? What if an ambulance needs a new tyre, or some diesel? If someone works in co-op, are they a key worker or not?

‘Use food delivery services where you can.’ Might be able to get a slot in late May if you’re quick, ffs.

I bloody hope so. Should have been the first action after we started seeing panic buying. People will take the ‘2 milks only’ message seriously if it’s delivered from a bloke with an SA80.
