Playing a CB who is woefully inadequate and also making him captain. Choosing a guy to take a penalty who has never taken a penalty over someone who has a record of 7 out of 7. Bringing on 4 subs at the same time. A team that mentally folds when going a goal down. This is just one game. Doesn't inspire me with confidence.

100% agree about the hospital passes. Sometimes we are blaming the player that made the final and fatal pass, but more often than not they have been put in a position where they are now in panic mode with micro seconds to think about what to do with it. Stephens and bedders are the main culprits who seem to quickly unload the ball and pass the responsibility to someone else. Ironically those two players have spent some time out on loan to over clubs a couple of seasons ago, so it was obvious then that they were deemed not good enough but now they are both back in central defence.

One thing for sure is that he is going to be sent off more than once.

In between all the negatives of yesterday I have to give praise to the absolutely cracking goal that Sugawara scored with the outside of his foot along with the great buildup with Dibling and Lallana. That was a piece of beauty.

Simple, stop trying to emulate Man City as we are not on the same planet, play your best players and not those who are underperforming but are being selected because they earned credit last season. Play a style that your players are capable of playing. If the manager can't do this then search world wide for a manager that can .

Some on here are still hanging onto the euphoria of winning the playoffs and getting promoted and all the excitement that generated. Time for a reality check, this is going to be a long hard season especially with RM sticking to his principles as he has once again repeated. I am not calling for his head but he has got to realise that we do not have players at the back good enough to play his brand of football. If the flame burns you do not keep going back and touching it. My big doubt is that he will not change nor does he want to, which will make for a very tough watch, a very depressing season with relegation a certainty.

The thing is, I like RM, he comes across as a really nice guy. It looks like he has a good relationship with his players and I am grateful to him for getting us back to the prem albeit despite the system. I would love him to remain but only if he wakes up and smells the roses. His chosen system is so flawed and dealt with so easily it's embarrassing.
