  1. I appreciate what you are saying, but the problem I have with all of this is that Lowe was tinkering with this idea of using the dutch guys and playing the youth before he was ousted, and yet he basically states now that these new reforms have been forced on him because of our financial state. I tend to smell a rat in all of this and in my opinion, after making good profits in the past by selling our home grown talent, he intends to do the same but more frequently. In one way, this is good business, but on the other hand it is no good for the fans of this club as it causes instability with the numerous comings and goings of playing staff, and does not guarantee success because of that.
  2. Results do bear that out at the moment but time will indeed tell on that one as I know it is early days.
  3. I am sure banks will also raise an eyelid if you asset strip your own business to such an extent that it is no longer a viable business.
  4. Oh please, what utter and complete bullsh*t. Surely a case of If you can't convince them, confuse them.
  5. I was thinking the same thing. How about an apple for the teacher delldays.
  6. Ok, Lowe for sure does not deserve all the blame, but lets face it, he is pretty damn unpopular now and not just with the fans. Surely, that cannot be constructive for the club can it?
  7. Spot on, I am sick to the back teeth hearing some blaming fans for the downfall of this club, have they not been witnessing the muppet show played out in front of them.
  8. Ah come on, it is well known that us men cannot multi task. How can you expect us to keep up on the latest players whilst having to explain to you girls why guys are forking the pitch at half time.
  9. what, like charlotte?
  10. Up and till now I believe saints have been well supported despite the dross they have been served up whilst also witnessing our supposed men at the top publically infighting , in fact, we have been one of the best supported sides in the CCC. If a benefactor came in now and turned this club around financially, he/she/they would surely be regarded as heroes, ala Walker (Blackburn). The stands would fill straight away, better players brought in followed by an upturn in this clubs fortunes.
  11. Sounds sensible to me, then again I suppose I must fall into Up and Away´s dumb category.
  12. I cannot believe that all these so called wealthy fans, ie, G Davies, Sulz (whatever), Fulthorpe, D Frost, Uncle Tom Cobbly etc etc, are stood by with their hands stuck firmly in their pockets whilst the club they are supposed to love flaunts with obscurity. Surley, if these very wealthy individuals do not want to risk large investment, which is understandable, just a little injection of cash would be enough to keep us from the strong possibility of administration. I am also surprised that some normally very vocal Ex players are keeping their heads rather low and their mouths shut, especially Mick Channon who even posted his support of Wilde (oh dear) on the old old forum. It just seems to have gone deathly silent as if they are all resigned to the fact that the death rattle they are hearing means certain death. Any idea´s?
  13. It's all very well to lay some of the blame at the cynics and pessimists, but don't you think what has gone on at the club over the past few years has contributed to the fans state of mind. It's the same as parenthood, if you have disfunctional parents you are going to have disfunctional kids.
  14. No two ways about it, for the sake of morale it's a must win or else the kids heads will drop too low.
  15. Frankly no. The whole total football ideal along with its new management was a cover up for what is in reality a team put together on a shoe string for economical reasons. As good as our youth players are, without a splattering of experience and quality we are basically doomed.
  16. Or how accept reduced wages and you'll get in the side. Play really well for the next season and put yourself in the shop window to be sold at the end of it.
  17. How about that we just take a fee for Davies and not accept second rate footballers as part payment. I understand that we are in the financial crap, but what good is going to come out of bringing in second rate players apart from certain relegation.
  18. If you want a bunch of robotic fans who even cheer when their star striker farts, go to China. There has always been and always will be a mixed bunch of supporters who react differently, that is human nature. At least those moaning are still paying to be there and assisting the club in staying solvent or perhaps you would prefer a quarter full stadium
  19. Exactly! half of which we have sold. Guys, I really hope your optimism is founded, but my viewpoint is that we will seriously struggle. The style of football we are playing now and the reliance on youth imo means that we are going to struggle in this league.
  20. Well put and spot on imo.
  21. So now you are even shouting down the viewpoints of people who did go.
  22. Based on money spent, the players sold, the people in charge and despite the pretty football and the encouraging first two losses of the season, I fear that Alpines views long term hold more relevance to how this season pans out than those that attended today. Sorry guys.
  23. Erm, the final result may have something to do with it.
  24. Well, for my part, I am gutted but not surprised and am already hitting a JD, I fear many bottles will be consumed this season. Perhaps many of us are not so vociferous when we win because it does not happen that often, and when WE do, it is very rarely followed up by a run of wins. I don't think many true winners take any positives out of loosing.
