Wotte's job offer, Surman bid, Rasiak to go cheaply
Saint Billy replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
As the meeting is today with Wotte and co, is there any signs of BBB, Bentleys, Bodyguards or Boats. -
Is there an initiation? I would love to be the Grand Master of ITK!

After reading Barry Hearns bitter comments about us and then noticing that Hearns club Leyton Orient had recently had its buyers pull out, I wonder if there is a link? The guy who headed the consortium interested in buying Orient was Terry Byrne, if I am not mistaken Terry Byrne is David Beckham's advisor and some media refer to him as Beckhams personal manager. Although Byrne said that Beckham was not directly involved in the buyout, but that could be a smokescreen and I would put money on the fact that in the future once Beckhams playing career was over he would be involved. Byrne has not got the personal wealth, it is the consortium who are the money men. Beckham has often been quoted as saying that he wants to buy a club once his playing career is over along with his mate Tom Cruise. Probably totally wrong but a couple of other clues seem to fit. Tom Cruise (wee man) Black and Gold (Galaxy away strip). Previous involvement in football (Byrne was Director of football at Watford) Been mentioned on here before. Household name. Not sure about the property and real estate link although is Becks home in north east london? I'll get my coat!

Perhaps Mlt and the owners in waiting do not actually rate the likes of Surman and McGoldrick etc and would rather ship them out and use the funds for players more suited to league 1 style football.
-
How is he a quitter? Coventry sacked him. I think we know the real reasons why he left saints. Has spent 4 successful years at Celtic which is not bad for a manager these days. As for style of play, yes it is not the most exciting but it is the type of organised and physically strong type of football required to get us out of league 1. Tippy tappy type football is not going to do it in this league as it didn't in the championship. My only real problem was how he got the team to play in the fa cup final, other than that he seems to have the ability to get the team working for him and running their hearts out.

He seems to have a problem with us for some reason! -
I like the owner bit, that would help the gates!

Fill St Mary's will be be one way to honour and please MLT.

I dont think you can deny anyone for being a bit over excited atm. It was only a matter of days ago when the wages were not paid that most thought it was the end. The club has now been thrown a lifeline but I suspect most fans will still be sh*tting bricks until it is all over.

Thank you for those words Mr Lynam and for all the hard work you and your team have put in to keep sfc alive. It is obvious that already your future plans are re-uniting a long divided fan base by the inclusion of our legend MLT and the fact that we will have just one owner. I would also like to give my thanks to Leon Crouch who kept the wolves from the doors and enabled your bid to progress and hopefully conclude. A true saint! Finally, can I wish the new owner in waiting all the best for the future. After suffering many years of division and heartbreak as fans of sfc I think you will find that he will be welcome with open arms.

Very sad, RIP Andy

Although happy beyond belief that hopefully we will now have a team to support, I am concerned about the small amount of preparation time we will have on and off the field. For one, if we need to get in some new players depending on who goes, we may be left with the pickings. Organising friendlies is going to be tricky.

I think many of us missed your post in the pure relief of still being alive, but thanks for that. Appreciated!

Just wondered, why is it a requirement that the identity of the backer/s is not known? Is it a requirement in this situation ie admin? If it is the backer who has requested anonymity, why? I am not fishing, I am curious, it just seems that every other buyout, takeover, rescue that we hear about we get to hear who the players are. If it is so top secret how is it that some on here know the identity? Happy but puzzled!

Was this the name you were alluding to this morning? If so, thanks, you made me look a right tit!

Bloody hell I missed it! Have shed a little tear from one eye but will save the other for when it is well and truly done! Great news for all the staff as well.

Hi Nick, this is only a deduction I made from DD's clues but seems to fit. Google John Mecom, Jr.
-
John Mecom, Jr?
-
American NFL football team owner? New Orleans Saints play in black and Gold and the owner is nicknamed Little John.

Too bloody true!
