  1. Spot on quotes from the Sunday Times, sums up exactly what I am trying to say.
  2. The fact that Rooney is playing like a lemon and expects to be paid more for doing it, but yes, Ferguson did'nt have to play ball and give him what he wanted. But the more this sort of thing happens the more the stadiums will empty, people will not stomach this sort of thing much longer. The amount of money some of these players are earning is not funny any more.
  3. To be playing the way he has been playing since and including the world cup, and then having the nerve to demand a higher salary is unbelievable, but you are right to a certain degree, if the management cave in to his demands, whose fault is it at the end of the day? I am just sickened by the the state of our game now, many clubs wobbling and on the brink of going bust and yet players demanding and getting paid more and more money, and then throwing their toys out the pram if they dont get their own way. In the meantime ordinary folk are having to suffer the burdens of a f*cked up economy and yet are still expected for the sake of the club to pay vast amounts of money to hero worship these planks and stomach the likes of Rooney earning £250k per week. The politicians are saying that we are all going to hurt in the cut backs, it is the only way, not if you can almost single handedly f*ck up Englands chances in the world cup and then play like a sloth on anti depressants for your own club so it seems.
  4. Sorry, I find that my dislike of the guy clouds my judgement of his football abilities. There is no denying he has something as far as football is concerned, but is far too inconsistent to be up there with the greats. I will put my kneck on the line and say that Gareth Bale will be a far better player than Rooney and far more consistent. But no player, whoever he is, is worth that sort of money. It sickens me to think of the huge gulf now between the guy kicking the ball and the fan paying to watch him, and football is now starting to show serious signs that it cannot sustain paying these greedy c***s the money they demand, hence my amazement at Man U caving in to this t*at.
  5. I cannot even be bothered to take up the saints player trial as it sounds a total waste of time.
  6. Please saints cheer me up after a sh*te week.
  7. 1 million a month or I leave, I know what reception I would give him. One of the worst reccesions ever and they pay that to a guy who cannot even trap a ball. I despair at football and how its going. Thousands of fans spending money they can ill afford to watch a guy who will earn in a month what most wont make in a lifetime. I almost hope that football implodes sooner than later and people start realising that paying clubs to watch these jumped up chavs attempt to kick a football is only encouraging them to offer these roonalikes more money.
  8. They better offer him a wedge because there is no chance of Rooney being his replacement now.
  9. Mid life crisis? Go but dont go sober, that little bit of haze contributes to a decent footy day.
  10. Darius Vassell probably going to Leicester so we can forget about him.

I'm having the same problem and have tried most things including old wives tales that have not worked. The cat has managed to get two of them but has now lost interest as it requires waiting by the hole for hours on end for the buggars head to pop up. Last resort now is smoke bombs made for the job apparently. I don't like hurting the things and we managed to catch one in a humane trap and released it a couple of miles down the road in a field but someone told me that it probably managed to find its way back.
  12. I was thinking about him the other night but could not remember his user name. Was he banned? Cant understand why as he was all for peace and love man.
  13. The trouble with the brits is that they have formed a bad rep pretty much universally and are treated with contempt by most abroad because of this. I lived in Spain for 6 years and the most obnoxious, badly behaved, rude people were the brits and I was embarrased to be associated with them. Conversely, get away from the cities and I find the brits in their own back yard to be really friendly but as someone else has posted, the italians, spanish, french, germans etc take some beating for friendliness in their own place as well.
  14. Done really well so far but still early days. If he can beat the xmas jinx then I will really be won over.
  15. Well there is plenty of darkness in my garden which has a couple of solar powered lights, why dont they stay there?
  16. That is the problem, once your phobia is out in the open people cannot help themselves. The pranks I have had played on me! Struggled to get through your second paragraph btw.
  17. I am sh*te scared of almost any type of insect so I can relate to the op's fear but times it by a few hundred. I live in the countryside and at the moment seem to have all species trying to get into the house to escape the weather which is my worst nightmare. Before I go to bed I have to inspect the whole house and make sure all windows are closed, and if I do find anything I have to get the wife to deal with it which is not great for a 18 stone guy. For some reason the bugs tend to gravitate to me, in the US I have been chased around a car park by a Japaneese Tree Beetle, I've had a ****roach run over my face whilst in bed in Tenerife, attacked by a Larch Wasp in Wales (they are really nasty critters), locked outside a conservatory in amongst loads of May bugs and had a Praying Mantis decide to land on me in Spain. These are just a few examples. Even a Earwig will send me into hysterics, and as for your common house spider running across the lounge floor, I am gone. My wife is the outdoor type, loves the windows being open with plenty of fresh air blasting in, this ofcourse is a big no no for me especially at night and has been the cause of many an argument. Why the damn things have to be attracted to light I don't know, but for me it is like running the gauntlet getting from my car to the house at night time and managing to get inside the house without being followed by 100's of various types of bloody hideous bugs.
  18. He employed Glen Hoddle and Gordon Strachan.
  19. I've mentioned this before, but I think this site reflects to some extent what is happening with the club. When the club is going through the doldrums (which is more often than not) this site tends replicate the feeling. Imo you can over moderate to a point where freedom of opinion gets muted, but there is a line that cannot be crossed and sometimes I think it is crossed on here without any action taken. I also think this place also lacks a bit of humour at the moment (some of the threads in the supposed Paul Allen takeover are priceless and had me busting a hernia). Its hard to introduce humour I know, we are not all Mike Osmans I know...oops, but you mods have been way too serious of late, probably due to the amount of grief you get and not much in return, but hey, thats life unfortunately. As long as your prerequisite is'nt that you have had to post over 6000 times and that you attend every saints game home and away, then I would like to be considered for what it's worth.
  20. Could not get to the game today, how did Chaplow play?
  21. Good one deppo! I would like to think you are being genuine.
  22. Frankly I prefer no information rather than incorrect information Deppo.................get where I'm coming from?
  23. Rated him, very industrious, would be a good move, but, get a winger as well please...
  24. Yes but two of those you mention are no longer with us, one is injured and one is just back from injury, this has surely been a major obstacle. Like you, I wished that Adkins had instant success but it was never going to happen. For some reason he has inherited a side that have mentally lost it and low on confidence especially Lambert and Punch. There is so many players out of form its unbelievable. Injuries to important players. He has to get the side to adapt to his style of playing rather than that of AP. What does annoy me is the lack of activity in the loan market, for me you only have to watch a team once to know where their weaknesses are and where they need strengthening. This concerns me alot especially after all the hype about the supposed free for all of decent loan players, have we missed out on all of them?
  25. It was only when I saw the word peeps that I recognised this post as Otterys! Calm down calm down (said with scouse accent). I was never totally convinced by his style of management but it did work to a certain degree, but in the main I do agree with Derry's opinion regarding his management skills. For me, the same flaws started to appear with Saints that exposed him in his West Ham and Charlton days.
