Unless... unless... unless we somehow managed to qualify for champions league. Then they might. And if we did, I bet you, he would be the reason. Sorry I know we're not allowed to say that anyway.

always always makes me chuckle. All your can hear in the hallways is the slapping of hands coming together in hi-fives! Its a complete racket! They don't even talk much, its just hands together haha.

Saints 8 (Eight) Sunderland 0 - Match and Reactions
Saxon replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
Yeah, excellent attitude. And yeah, really hope we are sat on 24+ from 12 games. Would set us up super nicely for the tough run! Bring it oooon! -
Excellent point. And something to think on for prospective players and players who are considering leaving.

Got back from the game. Wanyama and Spider gave good performances. Davis, not so sure today, Tadic also had an off day and we won't mention Mane's sitter... Turgid midfield passing and lack of pace and quickness of thought undid us today. Kept taking way too long to get the ball forward, not enough momentum on the counter attack and sloppy passing. There was a really stupid linesman error just before the goal though. The ball went out of play on the left just before Spuds scored (I had a perfect view along with many others) but the linesman was looking the complete other way (not towards the action or the ball but towards us for some reason) so didn't turn his head round in time and missed it. Absolute p1ss-take. Think that had turgid draw written all over it tbh though. Disappointed we lost. We squandered our chances though so no one else to blame. Spurs played ok, but were ultimately better than us when it mattered in the end to get the win, but think we deserved a point. Frustrating. Anyway, international break, hope we get back to winning ways and another run from our game with Sunderland THAT is an important game. We need to bounce back, AND we need to prove the Sunderland curse followed Poch! Come on you Saints!

How about, novel idea here, the people that paid the £37-41 fee to get in to WHL do whatever the f*ck they want. Boo if you want to, don't if you don't. If you get your wires crossed about people doing the opposite of what you would do then go and have a cup of water and a sit down and grow up. I don't care what people do either way personally, both sides have a point, but it's none of my f*cking business in any case, just enjoy the day, support the team and hopefully we'll get the win! For those of you getting all vitriolic and dictating how much of a real supporter you are for doing either, assess yourself and how pathetic a line of reasoning that is first. Personally I prefer the good ol cheeky chant to booing anyway, gets the banter with the opposition going more. Anyway, never been to WHL, looking forward to this, should be pretty rowdy either way round, hope the game lives up to the hype!

Firstly, what difference that makes to my post I have no idea whatsoever, it only makes my opinion stronger tbh. Secondly, I had heard about that. But that was (wiki) 2006? So its been just St Mary's longer than its been sponsored since it was opened. It's not called that anymore and even if we were the Sunseeker Stadium (not too bad for a sponsored name though? ) or something, my opinion wouldn't be any different... Anyway tbh, I don't quite understand the point you're trying to make it doesn't change my opinion, or are you saying that I'm not allowed that opinion since we once had a sponsored stadium? I didn't change the stadium name. That's as strange as asking a Cardiff fan giving an opinion about traditional first team colours, if they realized their first team colours were once blue, and now what did they think about their opinion.

I think most younger fans will also agree with this (being one and knowing a lot, of various clubs). I know for me, a lot of the appeal of English football is our unique heritage. I like the tradition of it, it gives you a link through the years back to the previous seasons of your club. Logos changing over time is fine (and exciting, giving you a logo and banner to identify with in your time), same with kits, but names of teams and, for me anyway, of grounds are important. I know that many supporters are ok with renaming stadia as it can bring a large amount of revenue, but I feel more proud we're playing at St. Mary's and not at the [brand name] stadium.

Yeah brilliant quote. And I thought I'd misheard him say, we don't make sh*t if we lose"! But haha, he actually said it I love this man.

Ok thanks. When I bought mine there was only one price, hence why i just wanted to double check. I'm happy with that then.

Quick question. My ticket says enter via South Upper Gangway. Does that mean I'm in the top tier? I'm in Block 45, Row 14, Seat 186. Thanks for any info!
-
My head agrees with this, and I truly hope this is the case. There is no reason why it has to end here. And even we lose, nothing is "ending" football is game by game,as the players always tell us. ANd the best way to look at it. My heart says draw or frustrating loss though :S especially as I have a ticket!!! Hope my heart is proved wrong!! This would be sooooooo god-damn satisfying a win if ever there was one!!

It ws good for the first half I found, second half it got laggy and the picture kept stopping. But could have been my internet I suppose. High quality picture throughout though.
-
Same first away game on my own too. But after The arsenal game was so amazing I'm looking forward to this one! Would love a draw, but if we somehow manage to nick all three points... I'm not going to lie, a loss would be a bit disappointing considering our start, but that's probably me just getting into it too much and having my expectations raised... plus I want us to beet the Argie sooo badly. And that team in general after the sh*tty 3-2 losses from last year that were so frustrating.

No it works for me now. I messaged the guy on the chat and he did something and now the video link appears. You don't get confirmation emails he said, they turned that off. So just ask in the chat, I think they just have to set it up for you maybe?? I'll let people know if it worked for the game later (should have one more post left, or you guys can try) but it seems legit so far. The sample stream looks good quality so fingers crossed for the game.
-
Even better, someone in a saints shirt!
-
I've registered but it won't let me view the stream page. Keeps saying error, don't have permission to access this page. I never received a confirmation email or anything. Anyone else had this problem? Am I just being a dunce?

To clarify, I'm not saying I'm happy with Lallana or that he conducted himself well. I just thought the comment was interesting, more the one about the fact we seem to be highly regarded as a place to play. I definitely didn't start the thread to say I think we should all forgive him. My comments about the chant are separate I just put them in the same thread as I forgot to in the Arsenal thread and they have relevance here. I think Lallana has been a knob about his move. But I think the chant is really lame used out of context and I don't think its massively loved by the team either. Never looks like it. Use it at Liverpool, it makes sense and was funny there, but dragging our dirty laundry to every game is a bit sad. Why can't we focus on the game at hand?? I think a lot of people would rather just leave it. I bet the players would rather we just left it too. He played for us, was a knob about his move and betrayal, now we have replacements and we're doing fine without him thanks. And I for one would rather rate Tadic on his merits alone, of which there are plenty, rather than comparing hm to an ex-player.

2 years down the line... he's getting call-ups from his loan move to Sunderland? How bad is our situation in the England squad exactly??
-
These are comments from Forster about his move to Southampton which were on the Sky Sport website: Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster believes that he made the right decision in joining the club in the summer. The 26-year-old moved to the Premier League side from Scottish giants Celtic in August for a reported transfer fee of £10million. Forster is rated as one of the best goalkeepers in British football, and he is keen to play well for the Saints to secure a regular place in the England team. "For me it's important to come down and play Premier League football,” he said. “Just to come and do as well as I can for Southampton, first and foremost. "I felt it was the right time and it was a fantastic opportunity and one that I could never have turned down. It's a fantastic club to play for, and everyone said that. "I spoke to Adam Lallana quite a lot in the summer and as soon as the opportunity arose he was very complimentary about the club and said I'd love it. "I'm delighted that was the choice I made. It's important that I play well week by week and see where it takes me." Just interesting. Also the line "everyone said that [it's a fantastic club to play for]". Good to hear that we're held in good stead with players in general. The comment from Lallana is nice, regardless of how he left and what his thoughts were in his interview with LFC (I wonder if part of that was him being overexcited to talk about his move there and also about him being too thick to realise what a stupid comment it was (the one about dreaming of playing there)). Also, doubt we'd be so recommended if we didn't pick up phone-calls so not sure how this fits in with the story they spun about that, though this could have been before. Also, an example of tapping up by us?? But regarding Lallana, the chanting to Tadic I think is a bit tiresome now. Yeah it was quite funny the first time at Liverpool, but at EVERY other game since?? It was often enough at the Arsenal game. I doubt the players in the squad like it that much, as half of them will still be friends with Adam, and the other half (inc Tadic) won't give a monkeys as they weren't here. Plus, i would be better to have a chant praising Tadic's skills that doesn't include references to ex-players that left on bad terms as it will just make us look petty all season. I agree with people who said just ignore them. They're gone, can we just move on and focus on our team. The performances and results we put on the board will do more to make them regret leaving and their decision than fans booing ever could. Lets just leave this one for the Liverpool game. Just my two cents. Also, booing Chambers??? What was that about? We didn't boo Ox, we applauded, did Chambers leave in a different way? I guess all the moves away this summer have been mixed up together and all soured because of the general situation. But I didn't understand the Chambers booing personally. And a lot of fans were looking round like "wait, we hate Chambers now? Is that a thing, I didn't know that was a thing"

Agreed. Would be nice for Koeman, but I definitely think Pearson has the stronger case. And fairly too. I'm a big fan of Leicester. One of my best mates is a fan. They play excellent football. Great great club.
-
I reckon Koeman is in with a good shout. The only other team so far to have a 100% win record in September is Leicester, so Pearson is probably the real competition (especially after the 5-3 win over Utd). Though it doesn't mean much, MP got it and it would be nice if RK got it too but mostly because he's done a stellar job! Who thought we'd be where we are (higher up the table than last season and more resilient on our performances) after our summer. So for that reason I'm hoping Leicester lose this weekend to Palace... (sorry to my Leicester mate as I usually hope they do well as they're a good team). Any idea if the League Cup result will be a factor?? I assume not as its PL manager of the month (so probably a daft question...).

Just got back. The support was amazing. Brilliant atmosphere, it felt like a special night from when we arrived. Near silence from the Arse supporters for most of the match haha, but to be expected I guess. But everyone really got behind the team and they really appreciated it. Brilliant team performance I thought, not that many mistakes, excellent performances by Gardos (some really important interceptions, blocks and excellent clearing, plus he just seems to appear in the right place at the right time. Our defense is scary atm!), Clyne (nothing more needs said, the goal was nuts!), Targett (very very impressed, looking forward to seeing more of this lad) and Mane (gave them real trouble all night, kept getting behind their defense, and as a result got the penalty. This guy is quick. Excited to see more of him. And then we have Long off the bench who is no slouch himself...). Tadic was also excellent, scored a very good penalty and was impressive. Everyone else was also very good as usual. Apart from the player performances the other excellent thing apart from the win is that it was from a goal down, and even better, a goal down against Arsenal at the Emirates. Really promising stuff. This team is built of sterner stuff than the last and with a stronger manager I think. Plus technically we are very very impressive, some amazing football was performed by us this evening. A lot of nifty defending and brilliant attacking. A joy to watch. Some of the balls played are sublime. Its early but... I reckon we could be in with a good shout of some silverware if we get a good draw and we play like that. Bring on QPR this Saturday! (Met a QPR fan on the way to the Arse game, he predicted we're going to smoke them... funny that but you never know!!).

Definitely this. Also because it would annoy Mourinho because he'd lose at home to Villa
