That just seems nuts! It does sound unlikely they'll need to do it though by the sounds of things. It sounds like there's multiple cheaper/easier options that saddling themselves with the cost and ball-ache of staging at SM.
-
So what happens for the "away" game we play against them? Our supporters lump into the away corner of SM and the Bournemouth lot lord it over the rest of the ground?
-
To be honest Prowse for Davis I think should be the change at half time. And hopefully we can kick on and get an early goal, come out of the blocks all guns blazing. If we want to finish 5th or 6th which if we're serious about Europe we need to, we need to win this game. If we don't then I really fear we will peter out like last season and trudge in 7th with a gap between below and above.
-
Hmmm, I reckon we'd be about the same, but its really hard and kind of pointless to to make a guess really. I don't think Lambert would have made more of an impact than Pelle and we've covered attacking midfield quite well but spread over a few players. I don't think there's much point thinking about it. I'm certainly more than happy with how things have turned out. Onwards and upwards and hopefully we get Europa!
-
Those exact three to come up, Bournemouth because it would be cool and the other two because it's easy for me to get to away games! Though I wouldn't wish this on any fans, I would choose QPR, Sunderland to go down and don't care who else, though I'd want Burnley to stay up.
-
Cracking goal by Pelle! Very happy with that! Congrats to whoever put a fiver on it! I bet the odds were alright too!

For the sake of the club, this has to be the way forwards. We need a top class keeper in next season and they can sort it out after that. There's no point going half arsed short term. And tbh, I really don't think they will. But more importantly, this sucks hard, really hope FFs recovery goes well so we see him back again sooner than we think.
-
Very well said that man.
-
If that's true thats brilliant news! Ideally we'd love CL, but if we go Europa, definitely don't want to have to play qualification games. That is excellent news.
-
Completely agree. I have no concept of how from a footballing perspective, Bertrand isn't in that squad as first choice. Its not like Clyne and Bertrand play together every week either...
-
So like every form of advertising ever
-
That's literally like the perfect kit....
-
Definitely a bargain at £4M! And we'll need squad players next season if we make Europa!
-
This completely! Though maybe only dropping to about 10th for a season As an example of what we should compare ourselves against, look at Stoke. Its taken them some time, but over the years they have now established themselves in the PL very well. Only dropped to 14th once in likely to be 7 seasons straight in the PL since being promoted, and also very much likely to have 2 top 9 finishes in a row over the last two. They have a reputation to be hard to beat and are a solid, dependable PL team (who tbf, have a better squad with better players and play better football than ever now). No one wants to play stoke. I'm not saying I think that's our dream, but they've done well for themselves and are an example of gradual growth which is now paying off. If we applied this to our model as seems to be the case we might start to edge into regular (every couple of years) Europa league qualification and maybe some cup semis. That would be better than going gung ho to push all out for CL, stretching the wages and system to the limit, against teams we can't compete on those terms with anyway. In any case, Europa league next season would be very exciting I just hope we have a better show in the cups as well after the last two dismal seasons (apart from the magnificent Arsenal away win)!!

Would absolutely loooove it to be Rank Xerox!

So hard to choose. Just generally don't want it to be Utd because its Utd. But then, loath Rodgers with a passion and there's no way I'd want Poch there. SO I guess on the balance, it would have to be Utd. They spent so much money that if they managed it I wouldn't feel hard done by so much, whereas Liverpool or Spurs would really twist. Cannot stand those teams and don't feel they deserve it at all. Utd kind of have to with the money they've spent, Liverpool have a right d1ckhead of a manager and fans and Spurs have fluked their ay to where they are bow and justice has to be they won't make it all the way surely.

If we finish higher than last season, which will in all probability provide us with some form of European football, that will be truly amazing. I really hope we manage to stay the course and get 6th/7th. If we managed 5th that would be even more amazing, but I'm really hoping for 6th. We've had an amazing season, the only disappointments being (again sadly) the cups. Anyway COYS, lets have one last push after this swiss trip abroad. Hopefully that pays off and the lads pull out all the stops after coming back rejuvenated. We can still very definitely challenge for the top four!

Excellent! Though it should be spelled "obvioushly" in this case I think

Gotta be power and teh glory if its Saxon these days https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOcRut2UM9g Motorhead The Game would be killer as well. However some WWE guy had it I think in the US??? So we may not be able to.... would be sick though. Judas Priest some heads are gonna roll could be very good too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDQjtCfUhPw Judas priest take on the world could work really well if everyone really got into it too! Open mind guys, give them a go, you could be surprised

Have to make a confession, I can appreciate the historical nature of the sash, but it doesn't do it for me. I adore the keegan/rank xerox though. So the reverse of the Ajax shirt would float my boat all the way down the river and back
-
Sounds like its buzzing! Cracking atmosphere! Come on saints, reward those at the game with a win!

The club should pay the living wage, there is no question. With the increase in revenues it is not really on to pay minimum wage, it doesn't matter what the job is. Also, as people have said, with the whole "community club" message being broadcast from St Mary's these days, this would be a big boost to the credibility of that.

Very impressive, the record speaks for itself. Interesting to see we're much more of a win or lose kind of team at the moment, not really getting draws! Anyway, the point I wanted to draw your attention to with this thread is that what has completely caught me by surprise is that, once we win our next game, we will have equaled last seasons number of wins.... and we have 14 more games to go at this point. So assuming we win in one of the next few, we will have equaled last seasons number of wins with hopefully 10 or more games to go, or more than a quarter of the season, and hopefully closer to a third! Madness! Roll on good times roll on! Pleeeease

Perhaps Jay Rodrigeuz for Harry Kane might have been a good swop.
