Chelsea - Champions Arsenal City Liverpool Saints finish - 7th (going optimistic) to go down: Hull City (Thanks to Europa) Villa Burnley 3 to cup up from the Championship (in any order): Derby Wigan Reading

Haha jesus wept Sunderland I wonder if we'll get a saga like that with someone this season? That was such a frustrating set of games! I will mark the season as successful in one way whatever happens if we actually manage to f***ing beat Sunderland for the first time this PL spell! Mind you having RK who is touted as a tactical mastermind rather than one-policy-Poch should help that ambition!

Initial TV game picks (Liverpool/Villa away, Man City home)

David James' anti Saints attitude was so unbelievable last season. Will not miss that one bit, used to wind me up no end. Skate fu**w*t. -
Yeah for sure! Young, proven goal score in the PL. With some top quality service (Tadic) I think he'd be great for us. Tadic and Benteke would show real intent tbh. Would be very exited to see Benteke signed or someone similar. Benteke, Remy or Lukaku would be amazing. I'm not holding my breath but boy, that would look pretty sweet with Tadic! I think Benteke would be the most realistic out of the three, but who knows. Tadic, Pelle, Benteke, (one of) Ruddy/Forster/Marshall. If that was our opening set of signings then I think people would take notice. Plus high quality CB if Loren goes ad a left back.

"So my, um, how do you say, agent, has decided to waive his fee as part of the transfer process and transfer it to me. Oh, and he would also like to have his watch given to me as well" "No, he has definitely said this just now" "No I am smiling because I am happy at signing for Southampton Saints Football Club, I am not making up what he is saying to you"

See the video below. This video just gets you so excited. And one thing I am loving is his attitude. The interview he gave was good plus the fact that FC Twente released this good bye highlights video, means they really treasured him, kind of like us with Lambert. So he leaves a good impression and left on good terms (unlike others we know of) and so he should be good in the squad I am hoping Loving Koeman more and more every time I hear from him. SO GOOD TO HEAR INTERVIEWS IN ENGLISH NOW! Sounds really upbeat and positive and just a lovely bloke. Very very excited for next season Where he casually says maybe better than last season I'm quietly expecting him to be chuckling inside as we do (as someone else said) the league and FA cup double next season as he's already planned how to do it

Thanks Guan, you're always a welcome voice of reason Really appreciate the insight.

This. It's all selfsih b******t justification from the leavers. "Oh there's no ambition because all the other lot left". Well Lambert was a special case, Lallana was a p**** who forced his way out over nothing (as he think's he's billy big balls now), Shaw we wanted the money to invest and now Lovren's spouting all this spiel because he wants out as he's as much of a billy big balls as Lallana. The club doesn't want to sell anyone else at all. They didn't want to sell Lallana. It's got nothing to do with ambition, it's just a line to tell the press to try and make yourself look like slightly less of a little s***. I only hope Morgan holds true to his word where he said he'd never force a move from the club. But we'll see. I love Morgan, I don't want it to end like it did with Lallana. I will admit though, we need some high caliber new signings asap more than ever right now.

I reckon we'll get top 10. I think a max of 7th and a minimum of 10th depending on how well the squad gels and how well we settle in. Bear in mind after the Liverpool game, for which we'll have a point to prove so should help us, we have a nice run in to get us under steam, so we have an enviable opportunity to bed the new squad in nicely before Christmas. The fixtures have been kind to our situation I would say. I am also expecting a good couple of cup runs with RK at the helm and I am hoping we get drawn favorably in them this year to help that That said, all of the above is the optimistic to realistic prediction. If the bedwetter's have their nightmares/dreams come true (lose Lovren, Schneiderlin, not enough replacements and maybe Cork or Fonte go, though I think they won't at all) then I would say worst case we would probably be 14th to 11th, maybe doing what Swansea did last season (like someone else posted). Flirting with danger but never getting drawn in and ending up respectably considering the turmoil. But I would argue that is absolute worst case. I don't see us being relegated I really just don't. Are we going to be worse than Burnely, West Brom and QPR? I can't see it, even with worst case. Plus, as stated above, with RK at the helm our worst case is not going to be horrendous. We didn't sign Macky, we signed Ronald f****** Koeman!!

Yeah I'm most impressed by this tbh. If anything I'd say it looks better than a lot of branded kits already out with other clubs.
-
Looking at how Palace did last season with the squad they had, no one should be worrying about our squad. If big Ron can get the best out of them it will be fine. It all hangs on if the squad gels and they all pick up the style quickly. Pulis transformed a Palace side that were one of the worst squads in the league up to the point of Pulis coming in. And then lok what happened with the same guys (pretty much).
-
Absolutely love this kit! Stripes can look bad (aka Stoke) but this looks really classy, love the mini stripes in the red stripes and the other small details. Very chuffed They'll sell out quick for Christmas I imagine, even with the £50 tag!
-
Well the fact that they were doing ball drills and shooting drills first day back (when apparently its usually just cardio etc [according to the SD interview)) is indication this maybe so
-
After having looked at it quite a bit today, have to say I really like the new training kit. Like the design and also the fact that it should look a bit more individual than the bloody adidas template from last season that made all the adidas teams look uniform. Such a lazy approach and such a lazy, s**t design. Pretty optimistic about the home made approach atm tbh.

Lallana completes move to LFC for a fee of around £25m
Saxon replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
That sums it up for me. And if he did force out by saying he wouldn't play again then wow. Felt embarrassed by the Clattenburg b.s. at the time, even more so now This is also why Lambert is still one of my favourite ever footballers, because people like him are rare in the PL these days. -
That's a logo free copy of the new Arse kit http://www.footyheadlines.com/2013/10/arsenal-14-15-2014-15-puma-home-kit.html So won't be that
-
Yeah this really rankled with me. I think its so lazy by the supplier and also rude because it looks like half the PL were part of team adidas as though it were prestigious to be with them or something as opposed to adidas supplying bespoke kits to the PL teams who it should be prestigious to be able to supply to. Without the clubs adidas wouldn't shift the kits. I don't see how own brand is amateurish. It sets us apart if nothing else. Palace did fine with it last season. At least we have a sponsor! (unlike Palace).

Absolutely reckon this too. Was thinking the exact same thing the other day. For us, the timing of this world cup could not actually have come at a worse time it seems now haha. If it were in another coupleof years we would hopefully have pushed on further towards Europe. As it is, our squad has been tapped up by all the "billy big balls" in the national teams (love that phrase ) We could come out of ll this well, I am optimistic, but the disruption I believe is largely due to the world cup's influence as well as MoPo leaving obv.
-
Wouldn't say it suits Lallana then, which is maybe a reason he was signed off on? All positive moves so far I would say. I'm very excited about the future personally.
-
Haha, interesting read we can bit only hope it pans out like this!
-
Both these. Same with united's Shaw buy as well (pants pulled down). Keep the faith! How could we have signed Koeman if he thought we were going to be s***e
-
Exactly this. Liverpool knew what he was like. They managed without him before, they can do so again. In a weird way this may be another strange stroke of luck for SRL, he may get lots of games at the beginning of the season and get to shine for his boyhood club. I'd be interested to see. Considering the service the Scousepool midfield provide combined with his finishing he could have a cracking run of games.
-
Very much one of my favourite players. Excellent striker, hard working and very grounded. Cannot wait until he is back for us! Good to hear from him tbh.
-
Exactly my feelings too. Love him to bits.
