Captain Scarlet replied to Saint Albert's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
I don’t know if anyone will see this, seems a quiet thread! Does DAZN show a decent number of championship matches? Thinking of signing up for next season. Can’t tell from their site as I’m not a subscriber. Thanks! -
At least one of Everton or Leicester will go down. Could still be both!!

This stream working for me, just need to refresh once in a while. https://aesport.live/live/chelsea-southampton-4275.html

Very impressed with the way he spoke. He certainly has my support, and I wish him success.

Our squad isn’t in fact hopelessly shit. They will fit the Red-bull style. Generally speaking, teams within the Red Bull structure will play aggressive, attractive, high-intensity, high-pressing football. These teams will be active with and without the ball, employing a high and aggressive pressing system and looking to get runners in behind the opposition defence when they have possession Some of our supporters are hopelessly shit though.

I'll take Marsch! Down 3-1 at half-time. Finally lost 4-3.

This video made me a fan of Jesse Marsch! Keep in mind they were down 3-1 at half-time. Game highlights here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLMmr2HvTwI

An American magazine’s take on Marsch’s sacking at Leeds. https://www.sportingnews.com/ca/soccer/news/leeds-united-sack-jesse-marsch-premier-league-american-manager/q8vrldd3zlodad6g26su1gk2 Lots of stats for Ankerson! I’m OK with Marsch, I think he will suit the majority of our players, and play good football. He will also stick around if we get relegated.

You all do realize he’s f###ing nuts! “I went to God after the game and said, ‘Why did you do that?’ It was a big moment. And all he said was: ‘Be still and know that I am God.’ I read it that day, during my daily reading: be still and know that I am God.” We are done for! Can’t do this God botherer BS.

Late to this thread, as I only just watched a recording of the match. So very impressed with Pelle today; he seemed to be involved in virtually every move, whereas previously the game seemed to pass him by. That speaks to a lot of work in training, credit to RK for that. Can't wait for Jrod to be fit as I think between him and Tadic we will scare a a lot of teams.

Watched a recording of the game after accidently finding out the score in advance (I hate that); lots of positives to take away from a game we should have at least drawn. Tadić, Bertrand, JWP and Wanyama were all excellent. Tadić is a real find and combined extremely well with Bertrand on the left. Yoshida always makes me nervous, but he was OK. I thought Davis had an off game (should have buried his chance) and Clyne was mixed, at fault for the first goal, but an excellent finish. I thought Long and Isgrove were OK when they came on and I'm glad to see them involved. Pellè was anonymous in the first half but more involved the second and showed flashes of talent, a couple of good knock downs and passes. He certainly needs to come to terms with the Premier League quickly; I’m willing to give him a few games. Koeman deserves a lot of credit for having the team so well prepared given the turmoil of the summer.

I trust RK to sort it out. It may be the antidepressants, but I feel it will all come good in the end, lesser players replaced with better ones.

This probably requires a separate thread.

Dusan Tadic - DONE DEAL, official and everything
Captain Scarlet replied to S-Clarke's topic in The Saints
I confess I didn't know who Dusan Tadic was two weeks ago, but after watching the videos, reading the reports and listening to the interview, I'm proper excited about this signing. Seems like the real deal! -
My translation is: Dusan Tadic's FC Twente to Southampton, England. The attacker did not count this afternoon in the exhibition game against vv Oldenzaal. Alfred Schreuder said afterwards that Tadic did not participate to avoid. Risk of injury The coach expects the transfer will be completed within a few days. There were several clubs interested in the services of the Serbian, but the team of coach Ronald Koeman is now going to draw the longest straw.

Lallana completes move to LFC for a fee of around £25m

Not a big fan of stripes, mainly because I associate them with Stoke and Sunderland recently, but this kit looks really good, I even like the socks. As above, would prefer we moved to navy blue instead of black shorts, it's part of our history, and would set us apart form the other red and white striped teams.
