Not the most exciting signing, but of course not all will.. I had the same feeling when Steven Davis joined and look how that turned out. This player was a free agent, therefore cheap.. Played under Puel last season, therefore has his approval. He is an experienced player and will be a perfect back up due to his versatility in being able to play RM/RW/LB and predominantly RB which will be great for the amount of games we have this season. Sorry I didn't really mean to pick on you in a sense, just was a good time for me to get it off my chest whilst we was sort of on the subject. I hear so many Saints fans spouting the crud that we should spend big like so and so club to show ambition. Not sure why they don't just believe in the philosophy that we have shown season upon season to work.

To be honest though, does it really matter? As long as we finish above them and continue progressing I don't really care how much we spend on a player. Think people are to focused on looking like a 'big' club, that sort of mentality for a club like ourselves will only end badly. Illd rather us stick to our rough diamonds and buff them up ourselves to show their true value.

Very impressed with how he comes across in his interview, like many have said. You can see he is determined, genuine and wants to give it his all. Can not wait to see him in the Saints shirt and kicking that ball around the pitch. Looks like he has the potential to be a fan favourite!

Anyone know if the announcement will be today or tomorrow, considering his supposed medical today?

Although Schalke have two very good talented cm/cdm's in Goretzka and Geis who would get into the team before him.

He's good, but not Bayern every week starting 11 good. Needs to go to a club like ourselves to develop before moving onto the big club stage, which is a very wise move.

Also need to remember that it is going to be harder for the u21s to break into the first team now and even be given a chance, as it is too much of a risk considering the level we now play at and the demand for top results. The top 10 spot of the Prem is too unforgiving for blooding talent that takes a while to flourish and only works for that 1% that have the natural talent to jump into the deep end.

I very much enjoyed our time with Mané at Southampton, he is a fantastic player and that is why I want him to do so badly for Liverpool. Considering Liverpool are in the same league as us and very much a league rival then why would I want him to do well? I want him to plummet at Liverpool, along with their points count. If he went to a side outside the Premier League then I would have wished him well.

Of course there is. Liverpool are a rival in terms of league positions and Mané is a dangerous player, therefore I want him to do awful. Makes sense to me.

Here's hoping he has a lovely inconsistent season at Liverpool where he is ****e for 90% of it and loses confidence due to his price tag and results in the club and players on his back.

I just laughed hysterically when we conceded. Awful, just bloody awful. Although Roy is terrible and I never want to see him manage again, this team through the sheer quality they are supposed to be shouldn't be this shameful.

Yes that would be an anti-climax, but I can not see that the club are thinking that Redmond is the Mané replacement. We are much more clever than that.

Yes it's a disappointment he's going to Liverpool of all clubs, but this is football and what happens to a club in our position. We've enjoyed our time with Mané, now let's get excited on who we are going to replace him with!

Pellegrini doesn't fit the style of how our club is run and played on the pitch. This fascination with a 'big name' is ridiculous, raising the clubs profile with a well known name gets you no where. The reason a club like ourselves has done so well in recent years is due to having a set system which the manager has to fit within. In my opinion we have one of best run clubs in the league, therefore I have full faith in there decision for Puel.

Redmond is the kind of player I can see developing well with Saints and is a good fit. Wouldn't however say he is starting 11 material at this moment, especially with Mane still here. If he is a Mane replacement, if we are judging Redmond's product at the moment, then it is a disappointment.

England are crap at breaking teams down, hopefully playing a more attacking team in the next round will actually benefit us.

Wouldn't surprise me if Bertrands taken off, doesn't look his normal astute self. Very poor display.
