  1. He lost a lot of credibility after his England stint and his laughable accent attempts, but he's a good manager and his domestic record speaks for itself. Not the most fashionable (no English managers are these days) but I wouldn’t be too disappointed by his arrival.
  2. I saw this after Steve Clarke was dismissed by WBA.
  3. I expect this from MP: Mauricio Pochettino says he leaves Southampton with a heavy heart but hopes people understand the chance to manage Spurs was too good to turn down. The Argentine was unveiled officially as the new Spurs boss at a press conference on Thursday morning. Southampton are are understood to have agreed a compensation package totalling £2m. "The only way I was going to leave Southampton was for a big club, and I mean a big club," Pochettino told the Daily Echo. "It was an extremely, extremely difficult decision because my plan was always to stay here at Southampton for a number of years." #standard
  4. what odds on Spurs announcing his appointment before we hear anything from Saints?
  5. Perhaps they will all follow him to Spurs..... or perhaps not
  6. are you the new Barry Sanchez?
  7. Loyalty English Plan B Win % Cup priority
  8. MP has left for $$$$ He will use the clubs ambition as an excuse imho
  9. On 18 March 2014, he signed a two-year deal with Zenit Saint Petersburg
  10. Roberto Di Matteo was the favourite - that was presumably before everyone was told of his £130k PW contract with Chelsea. That contract coincidentally ends in 5 days
  11. Warsash might only be 5 years old?
  12. I dont think he's acted with much class, i wont give him much thought after he leaves and i dont think he's as good as he thinks he is. He has been in management for 5 years, he has so far won nothing. The BBC lists his career highlight as "Secured notable wins over Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea"
  13. Has he ever spoken of a love for our club? Has he once said he wants to stay? We are a club on the up, we can attract a top manager if/when Poch leaves. He is replaceable.
  14. Why is Spurs the graveyard for managers? Havent they had half as many managers as us this past 10 years? Pochettino suits Spurs - i have always viewed Spurs as somewhat classless, forgettable and simply not as good as they think they are. A perfect match
  15. Chelsea are still paying him £130,000 a week. Deal ends in June.
  16. Moyes would be great. 10 months ago he was rated as one of the best managers in Europe. Same as Michael Laudrup theyve not become bad managers overnight and both cdajfu. Roberto Di Matteo would also be an option
  17. Agree The daily press articles dont help, but at the moment its speculation only and nobody has left. I will have faith in the board until they give us reason not to.
  18. Bale!!!!!!
  19. 12 premiership management changes this season alone, no job in the prem is secure. Its simply not a secure industry.
  20. This is a thread to discuss Pochettinos future, one reason given for him to stay is the expected longevity of any spurs role. Just felt it was fair to highlight that Spurs dont appear to be as triggerhappy as some would like to suggest.
  21. True i am, i used wikipedia ill be honest and simply counted the managers, didnt focus much on lenghs of role. Just thought it was an interesting comparasion given the idea that Spurs were quite trigger happy with managers
  22. Neither. Long time SWF lurker and signed up ONLY after Barry was given boot and joined TUI.
  23. Are you suggesting that Tottenham change the manager alot? Over the past 10 years we have had 14 different managers, Spurs just 7?
