  1. How would everyone spend the £50m? Asmir Begović Cresswell Éver Banega Javier Hernández Remy
  2. Pochettino - no league titles, no cup wins, no finals, highest ever league finish 8th. Koeman - 3 league titles, 5 cup wins, 65 games in Europe (59 champions league) multiple cup finals.
  3. Swansea in the summer of 2012. Lost the manager to Liverpool, Sinclair sold to Man City, Allen to Liverpool, Graham to Sunderland, Bodde to Haag + Orlandi and Dobbie to Brighton. But they went on to sign 4-5 including Michu and Pablo and finished the season 9th and league cup winners

  5. Koeman has been the odds on favourite since MP left. He's now at 6/4 with Sean Dyche 2nd fav at 5/1. Moyes is climbing though and now 3rd fav at 6/1 Still its Southampton so id still expect a surprise or disappointment.
  6. One problem it seems is the order. If we sell Lambert, Shaw and Lallana, everyone knows we have £60m kicking about and prices then go shooting up. Its also a pretty depressing thought that we would need to replace 3-4 ever year rather than adding 3-4 to what we already have. Sad time (potentially)
  7. I dont understand why teams arent asset stripping Newcastle, Stoke and Palace? They finished just a few points behind us last season.
  8. Surely asset stripping a club prior to a sale is completely unprecedented in the top flight? Just wouldnt make much sense and surely Les Reed would have walked by now?
  9. Lambert vs Gerrard for pens. Ouch
  10. Can you name any club that has done similar before? Nope me neither
  11. We finished 8th last season and for the moment still have the 8th best squad in the league. Moyes is unlikely to get a better offer than us for a while. Cant see any top 4-5 club touching him again. He built a superb reputation at Everton over 10 years. This was all lost in 10 months at United. Still a top manager though imho
  12. Hear what you are saying, hoping your wrong. Even under Lowe and complete incompetence towards the end, we still signed Morgan. Just hoping our new gang learn fast.
  13. Do they? Last season: Chelsea (10) transfers, Hull (13) Palace (19), Liverpool (8 ), Sunderland (17) Everton (10), Stoke (8 )
  14. Perhaps Danny Welbeck is part of the deal for Shaw to United?
  15. Who will take our penalties now?
  16. 3 league titles + 5 cup wins + 65 games managing in the champions league (59) and Eufa cup (6) Thats not too bad? The only job he's "failed" at was Valencia and even then he had a similar win % as MP did here.
  17. Romelu Lukaku season long loan
  18. Ive been asked "What's happening to your club" about 10x today.
  19. did a better job with a weaker playing squad too.
  20. I simply cant believe the fee is £4m. I suspect it will be closer to £7m Cant think of too many strikers that sold for more aged 32?
  21. Golden thread When will Batman learn?
  22. I am hearing different things on MP since he left - this is fairly typical after a manager leaves as staff are more inclined to tell the full story. Consistent with Neil Ashton's comments the other day - MP was known to be a control freak, showed favouritism towards a small group of players, sulked (a lot), was paranoid and started spending less and less time at the training ground after January. I appreciate this is fairly one-sided, but is also remarkably similar to the accusations thrown at Laudrup?
  23. Laudrup is being dismissed as an option due to newspaper reports about his lack of interest and lack of time spent on the training ground. But weren’t the same accusations pointed to MP in a recent newspaper article? Laudrup would be free, has managed a similar sized club, delivering Europe, cup win/final (the first major trophy in Swansea's 100-year history) + he plays a similar passing style to MP (allowing some continuity at all levels) Laudrup also has good contacts it seems and his signings for Swansea have been largely impressive (Bony + Michu especially) He left Swansea in mid-table and still in the FA Cup and Europa League.
  24. MLT sums this up nicely If Rickie joins lfc i will say good luck to him and thanks for helping to resurrect #sfc its His boyhood team and in CL. #stillahero Lets not panic about possible exits until you see how the funds are reinvested in the squad and see how we look when season starts
  25. Are you not getting attention at home?
