  1. So could Tim Sherwood
  2. Id consider Murat Yakin an up and coming manager? Hes only 39. Koeman would probably not be talked about in them terms, ranieri defo not. But like you said, could also be a complete surprise.
  3. Reed said they had 6-10 on original shorlist Had loads of top end applicants and final 4 all featured in the original shortlist. Lets just hope the orinal shorlist was ambitious Feels like its close. Just paper work holding it up Reed said
  4. See post 6 http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?50630-Les-Reed-s-Video#.U5dXmtq9KK0 All good
  5. Watched the Reed interview, says paper work is being done and manager will then be announced. Sounds like its almost done
  6. Great interview, sounds very positive. Manager has obviously now been picked, just need to get it over the line. Used the word "exciting" about 18x during that interview For anyone whose not watched it or not got time, heres the gist Lots going on New pitch Training ground will be ready for pre-season Deliberately choose local friendlies to make them competitive Opportunity for fans to see new players (at friendlies) Two marque friendlies to be announced soon Been targetting players for some time Scouting team working 24/7 Always kept an eye on up and coming managers The Southampton way... Markus's legacy Closing in on proffered candidate (Manager) Paper work taking time Announcement sooner rather than later Fans will be excited Amazed at the level of applicant Had 6-10 candidates ready once Pooch left Final 4 were on the original list Players also excited to join club 12 analysts building database of players Nobody comes in our out without the say of manager Not as many bids for our players as he'd thought Manager will have opportunity to assess squad before player sales Trying to persuade players to be patient Any money from sales will be used to reinvest Wants to improve team and depth by season start Intention is to keep all core players Frantic "loads going on"
  7. Just avoid someone British and 85% of SWF will be happy
  8. I think we all give the media far too much credit. I find it highly unlikely that clubs would use newspapers and betting sites to influence/ negotiate with perspective managers. Maybe i'm too naive?
  9. Has he dyed his hair ginger too?
  10. Adkins would have had offers after leading us to two straight promotions and steadying us in the prem. But he didnt publicise any of it like Pooch and just continued with the job that he clearly loved. With the squad we have now, Adkins would have guided us to the giddy heights of 8th last season - no problem at all. Before he was sacked we'd lost just 2 of our last 13 and were heading up the table. Would happilly have Adkins back here. In fact id be delighted
  11. A top club maybe. But Spurs? Nah
  12. Napoli Fiorentina Valencia Atlético Madrid Chelsea Valencia Parma Juventus Roma Inter Milan Monaco Somehow Saints would look odd on the end of that list....
  13. Id take the Tinkerman for sure
  14. Cant really see any bed wetting?
  15. Thank you 100% MLT then
  16. Did Lambo miss any pens before joining us?
  17. He also had our best premiership team ever at his disposal tbf. Plus Strachan finishing 8th + cup final trumps anything pooch delivered for us.
  18. So if Koeman comes in and does better than Pooch, you will think Mopo is a crap manager too? I dont get that logic.
  19. But you told Nicola "to go **** himself" before Pooch was announced. You were fuming that Adkins was being pushed out. Whats changed?
  20. Whats changed from the day Adkins was sacked? You were fuming that day, telling Nicola to "go **** himself" and when asked Is sacking Nigel Adkins today the correct decision? You voted NO like 94% of Saints fans. Whats changed your opinion on him? We/he was slow to get going in our return to the prem, but after 2 consecutive promotions and very limited prem experience that was hardly surprising? But he/we got it together and had just 2 defeats in his last 13 games. Look how Pooch did when he needed to play Jos, Gazza, Fox......
  21. Trying washing more?
  22. Impossible to say for sure, we will never know. But batman was suggesting lambert was our only real hope. Just pointing out that Lallana was on the fringes 2 years ago and Shaw was a guarantee at some stage given his talent. You mention Jack Cork in your post (38 ) above, but i actually think although class last season he was better the season before, perhaps because he played more regularly though? Cork was a regular in the u21's and of course got the olympic call up, before Pooch came in
