My prediction.. Saints 1 Watford 2

Southampton is a springboard for players and the club makes little secret of that now. Tadic joined us and would have hoped to move onto one of the top 6 in England, Spain or Germany after a season or two ala Clyne, Mane, Big Vic ect ect I think he had some interest this summer but perhaps only from clubs on par with us (Schalke) rather than the desirable Arsenal or Dortmund or even Liverpool. If he delivers for us this season a big club may come knocking and he will be allowed to leave. In the meantime we get to keep him and he gets another few years to prove he's a level above us. Win/win situation

The other issue is that posting on here is not letting the Saints fans know in advance, it's maybe letting 100 Saints fans know. This forum has a hardcore (Trousers, batman, Shurlock ect) that spend all day every day on here but the forum is a very very small sample of the fanbase and really has very few members visiting everyday. I don't think we have any genuine ITKs on here anymore, just a few guys that know an ITKS and get little snippets 90 minutes before the whole world is told...... Kinda pointless

One way to look at it... Hull, Burnley, Sunderland could name a few others. But they didn't have the same opportunity as us the same momentum to push forward. Just a bit depressing watching us stand still if not go backwards this summer, particularly when 8 or 9 premiership clubs have really kicked on and widened the gap between us now them Transfers have been miserable and losing 3 of our best players (& manager) again is hard to watch

What an utterly depressing summer for us. We had another opportunity to kick on and really try to stamp ourselves as one of the top 6 sides in the league. Instead we sell 3 of our best players and try to replace them on the cheap We have got away with it last few years but I genuinely think we will be found wanting this season. I am not even excited for the season starting Don't know who or what is to blame but we are still approaching things like it's 2010 rather than accepting wages are now everything and good players now cost a decent wedge. Bottom half this season and no doubt outta Europe at the group stage.... Depressing

I would be delighted if we could pull this one off. Would be a real sign of our intentions and ambition and would be two fingers up to the bed wetters on here!! Come on Saints please..... We need some good news and this would really lift the spirits at the right time
