  1. Pleasantly surprised today - especially in the first half. If "stick on the line" Gazza had been in goal I think we'd have been two down by half time.

    Sell Gaston??
  3. Interesting read Jamie - were you involved or is that not your boat?

    Everton report

I don't think any Evertonian would agree that a draw would have been a fair result.......
  5. For Artur to concede a goal every 142 minutes is amazing - no other Prem goalie was over 95 mins
  6. I was also pleased that Gazza kept a clean sheet including claiming some catches under pressure but..... the stats show that Cardiff produced ZERO (yes, zero) attempts on target the whole match. Admittedly he did save an offside effort and a possible OG from Fonte ...... but tomorrow at Everton there will certainly not be ZERO attempts on his goal. Unless he really is up to the mark he can expect to be under the cosh.... and possibly picking the ball out of the net more than once
  7. Couldn't agree more - great stuff!
  8. Who cleared off our goal line at Newcastle when Gazza was caught in no mans land? Yup - Calum Chambers - great instinct. Had we gone two down.........curtains I reckon.
  9. I was trying to buy a pair for a mate and his son but couldn't find two seats together anywhere
  10. Three more points and a three goal-difference swing should see Mr Beattie's team move above the Blue Disaster Nutjobs. Will Oi Larrfff?
  11. Of course Guernsey, Jersey and Alderney already have the own teams - they play a three-way cup competition annually. I think the question you are asking is whether they will be allowed to have UEFA status? I am sure the answer is NO because the Bailiwick of Jersey (which has it's own government with some absolute powers but other powers within UK law) is separate from the Bailwick of Guernsey - which includes Alderney and the other islands and also has it's own governor and government). So the phrase "Channel Islands" is a geographic entity not a geo-political one.
  12. Another cracking read. Thanks and KEEP EM COMING!!!
  13. I detect that the ethos of the club, as we now see being firmly developed with commitment of club money and demonstrated as successful (so far), has 100% buy-in from senior players who are excited to be part of it. This will, in my view, be a compelling reason for them not to jump ship when the so-called glamour clubs come knocking at doors of our star players in the coming transfer windows. Watch this space?
  14. He'd have looked pretty foolish as a Finnish person, giving an interview to a Finnish reporter...... errr... in English
  15. Excellent balanced post Frank. I concur and am equally proud of the team.

    MOTD Tonight

I see that game being used by Poch as a "last chance saloon" for a few fringe players with Jay Rod being used as a support act. Sadly I don't feel that any of them took the opportunity and hence confirmed Poch's underlying assumptions. No names mind. I don't think it's difficult to work out who.
  17. Good tweet in my view. Saying something about his mistake, just enough, not too much.
  18. Item 1. I think Mr Sherlock needs to get over his feelings of self importance....... and get a life. Item 2. We don't go to a football match to engage in social judgement. Item 3. If you go to a football match to engage in social judgement, then see Item 1.
  19. If we see Woy at St Mary's on Saturday, watching all those named above, might the penny finally drop that English talent isn't only found playing in the reserve teams in Manchester?
  20. From a purest point of view........ 1 shot on target (Sunderland) in this half. Poor barely sums it up. So sorry for those that may have traveled from the south to watch this match (so far).
  21. This. Sorry but he looks like a £12M flop to me. I've kept my thoughts to myself for over a year on this, in the hope he'll show us he's just a slow developer/adapter...... but sorry, I can't just keep waiting and giving him a chance any more. Maybe if he was an academy prospect aged 17 or something but as a "proper adult" and at that price....... sorry No. Said it.
  22. I agree the key is knowing you have the right person. In my case I paid for an architect, who spent loads of time and (my) money producing the drawings - but I only later found out that he had no intention of doing the structural calculations. Hence why I then had to get a structural engineer to do them. Thats the warning I am flagging up to the OP
  23. Point I wanted to make is that regardless of who produces the drawings you need a structural engineer to sign them off as structurally sound. An architect can in theory design you a house that won't stay up. You'll need to pay the engineer - if you use an architect too, you'll need to pay both. I make this observation cos it caught me by surprise - it was only after after I'd paid a lot of money to an architect to turn my sketch into proper drawings that I found out that it was an absolute obligation to then get a structural engineer's say so, He added in more beams and the cost of the project sent up as well as me having to pay his fees. Building Regs then enforced the structural engineer's design (not the architect's) as well as all the other Building Regs stuff like insulation - oh yes LOTS of insulation!! Hence my comment / advice.
  24. I used to watch Brighton when Lawrenson was in the team, as I was living down there ..... Brighton's rivalry was all about PALACE. No-one else.
  25. Of course you'll need to have your drawings approved by a structural engineer and he'll probably insist on hugely oversized girders being inserted to ensure that it can withstand an 8.9 earthquake (in other words it will end up being hugely over-specified in my experience). Building Regs will then want to see the structural requirements incorporated.
