Emoticon for "political correctness attention seeking plonker".....

Why not save travelling time and head for Poole in Dorset? Great beaches at Sandbanks/Branksome and across the ferry at Studland. Loads to do in the town. Also - easy to get out and explore the Swanage area on foot or even on bike. Bikes are excellent as you avoid traffic queues and can easily use the chain ferry.

Another excellent read Billy. Well written, sir, and thanks for taking the effort; no lack of truth in the final paragraph either (sadly)... We look forward to reading insightful Tuesday offerings during the upcoming season

Turks, the RK you are referring to is Koeman not Kruger, right? Strange (and potential for confusion) that our Chairman and Manager have the same initials
-
I guess this loss of manger is going to hit the club pretty hard when we get round to Advent. Where will the baby Jesus sleep?
-
A most interesting read - unusual from the mainstream press, these days. Much food for thought......

Great season's read mate. Thank you for taking the trouble and sharing both your wit and rose-coloured spectacles for another season. Much enjoyed it - compulsive read every week!

Don't take it at face value... there must be a really good conspiracy theory to support this being an intentional act. Think outside the box for a while, then get back to us

What was the outcome Turks?

Maybe ask Cardiff about that last bit?

Another great write-up. I'd love to comment but not keen on opening a Google account just to do so...... LOVED the half time chat BTW. Most original and highly amusing. Keep it up!

Problem is, whilst Northampton are on a good run, Pompey's crap run is pretty much being equaled by Wycombe..... Who might just nick the second relegation place
-
Just one more goal to Northampton or Rochdale will see the fishy lot below the line........
-
Not confusing surely - just someone wanting to have it all - using every tool in their box to self-promote. They're not smart enough to spot the irony.

The reason Sol would make a poor captain of any team is simple:ARROGANCE. Beckham may have had his knockers - film star life style, poncy manner whatever. But he could still captain a team. Imagine if the team captain was as self-serving and arrogant as Campbell. No sensible manager would choose to godown that route methinks.

This post should be moved to join the other entertaining stuff in the Pompey thread in The Lounge - a great read at only 1907 pages - CLASSIC (and I commend it to the house)!!
-
So we're at home to "bottom of the away league" Stoke this weekend then........
-
It could actually be the new CEO making these decisions, you know, not Katerina at all? I mean, she has appointed a new CEO but everyone here is assuming she is still the effective CEO. Whilst that might be true - it probably isn't.

BBC stats show that P*mpey had just one shot on goal during their win over Wycombe......... would that be the penalty they were gifted? Its about the same as when Fulham played us. Or - in other words - pretty crap!!!!!
-
Shaw's cross for Jose's goal was amazing. He was being closely marked yet still whipped it over, great shape and inch perfect. And his shot toward the end really tested Schezny.... great strike.
-
Around the 75 minute mark tonight he took a high ball, running toward his own corner flag. Played keepy-uppy with two headers (despite being closely marked), then right footed it high and down the line.....Jay Rod darned nearly beat the goalie to it to win the game for us. Such big balls to try what he did - but full credit to him - he has such confidence as well as talent.

The title speaks for itself - according to BBC form chart Man City have won 9 of the last 10 matches (draw vs Saints being the exception) - ie taken 28 points out of 30. That is simply immense form - put it another way, they have taken 28 points in their last 10 games whilst we have gained 30 all season. The blue machine seems to be firmly in top gear!! Its somewhat pleasing that Saints are the only team to have casued a minor speed bump in their progress, though.

Aaron Martin showed early promise but I think that the club's rise up the leagues was no help to him; as I see it, the increase in pressure and expectation (and aversity to risk) as we went from L1 to Champ then to Prem meant that he was not given the chance to learn his trade - which includes the odd mistake - in a Saints shirt. Shame - I thought he showed an awful lot of potential, by which I mean physically and tehcnically as well as with his calm assured (for his age) manner/demeanour.

Central defender is probably the hardest position to fill via the academy graduate route. We all understand that, when a "young lad" breaks into the team he is bound to make a few mistakes. Problem is, make a mistake at Centre Back and you've probably caused a clear goal chance. Its a thankless position for the nervous debutante. However, having said that, they must come from somewhere. i mean Lovren wasn't born at 24.........he must have learned his trade somewhere in the "heat of battle".

In my view, the city-centre-accessibility of our stadium is a massive plus. I mean, most of us walk the last half mile or so to the stadium and that seems to work pretty well. Those that want a pint on the way, or on the way back can fill their boots. Think about Brighton or Stoke, say; their stadia are near arterial roads but....... what else do they have going for them? The park and ride at Brighton is a 'king nightmare for starters.
