  1. check out the post two above yours Jamie
  2. To my mind this was the main contributing reason. I remember around February and March the entire (first choice) first team was unavailable due to injury. Now, many people have said it was bad luck - my view was that it was an indemic problem with either the overall levels of fitness, the training regime, the physiotherapy or something that the management either should have done better or could have corrected before it became critical. But it's easier to say its bad luck and no-one is to blame......
  3. ONLY if he can find some form surely? He's barely a shadow of the player we saw in the first 1/3 of the season these days. Pretty much lost all his flicks, tricks n stuff --- or he's been found out and marked out of the game as a result.
  4. I have built my own house and have some experience. But no way an expert. Firstly it depends on what sort of soil/rock your house is built on as to what foundations you need. Secondly, given that you're wanting to do this under the Bdg Regs radar, you should (in my opinion) be very certain you're not cutting corners as you may find that the house is unsellable in future or - even if you're not wanting to sell, you'll look pretty foolish if the extension starts coming away from the house becasue you scrimped on the foundations. You say that the RH wall is next to the boundary but not what is on the other side or how far away. Assuming reasonably hyard (but diggable) ground, if you hand dig the foundations you can dig right up to the boundary - but if you're closer than 1m then your neighbours can object and then you're in a whole world of hurt. You also don't say whether you get on well with your neighbours or not (as this can often be a deciding factor). Obviously, regardless of your relataionship, if the boundary is actyually the outside wall of someone else's living room then you'll need to find another way.
  5. Did you spot who was screaming for the ball as he hammered up the pitch in the 93rd minute before passing through to Mane for the winning goal? Yup - you guessed - your very own "undynamic" Yoshi......
  6. What is also interesting is that the 3 teams that went down were lying 12th, 17th, 20th after 22 matches. So I'll remind my my Everton-supporting mate not to relax!
  7. Looks like I chose the wrong six weeks to go away on holiday ......... which is, unfortunately from a Saints perspective, what I am just about to do (but I really didn't think we'd be up there with the big boys when I booked it last March!!)
  8. Agreed - Surely now would be the right time to revisit this piece of unexplained recent history? I wonder if Ralph even knows about the flag. Maybe, if he doesn't, he would find some decent use for it? Can't Guan or anyone esle with club connections whisper something in his ear or something?
  9. This is starting to look like a very good, prophetic, post...... the last 6 matches having gone as "forecast" (ie winning all but the Spurs match).
  10. This is a super piece of animation and I commend it to the house: http://www.espnfc.com/blog/the-toe-poke/65/post/2106806/sunderland-8-0-thrashing-at-southampton-recreated-in-lego
  11. Any pub in Portsmouth??
  12. So... logically.... it must have been a late tackle? Which would normally be a free kick and a yellow - or in the box it would/should have been a pen?
  13. I think you'll find that, if things go in this direction, MPs from Wales and NI will also be excluded from votes on English issues which will completely overturn Labour's apple cart
  14. Thats pretty unequivacal I would say. You, me old mate, do not show enough commitment. Bye bye.......
  15. I think he was reserving 7th for that accolade..... Its all about keeping your powder dry
  16. About as likely as Nat Clynne actually being a product of the Saints Academy.....
  17. A mate of mine took his high-spec camera to an FA Cup match at St Marys a few season ago and was very quickly told that photography was not permitted. Clearly camera phones, the odd Kodak (to use wonderful aged slang) for a souvenir or a famiy pic is one thing; but something at the high end, with zoom lenses or whatever, is deemed to potentially be commercial. I am sure you will be asked/told to stop - the only question being how many shots you get beforehand.
  18. Wasn't there some data posted on this forum that we had the second lowest wage bill last season...... or maybe the season before?

  20. Jamie, I think you've just hit the nail on the head. One highly plausible version of the story is that NC was using SFC funds like they were his own as that was how things had been (to some extent at least) with the old man. Katherina was not happy at NC's level of spending of (what was now, effectively) HER money and this came to a head in late 2013. At which point NC was asked to work his 3 months notice..... and the rest is history. Add to it the strong rumours that Katherina then had to put her hand into her own pocket to fill the gaps left by NC. Hence (perhaps) the "never never" comment made earlier in this thread. So if this version is correct, the whole NC leaving, manager leaving - albeit at the end of the season, players leaving ("club in meltdown" headlines) could very well have been down to NC spending money that a) was not his and b) had not been authorised.

  22. Even though Saintsare showing in the top half of their projection, we're only showing 5 points from relegation. Such small margins (situation was very similar to the bottom 11 or so clubs last season)
  23. Pretty gushing for a neutral writer...... lets hope Pelle can live up to this sort of hype!
  24. Agree - he's a great communicator and there always seems to be a strong vein of honesty and "normal bloke" about him.
  25. Hmm.... bit of an assumtion there.....maybe I already do, every day? And no, thats not me in my avatar!
