  1. I think the word you highlighted in capital letters is the key here. We Saints fans believe that we have a TEAM with good spirit, which is in turn composed of good players. Maybe Liverpool's problem is that they buy such players but then find it is not so easy to massage them into an effective unit; a TEAM. Instead they end up with a disparate collection of players. Similar analogy to England - and, in converse, to Leicester who clearly got the TEAM thing right. We all know the outcomes for England and Leicester.......
  2. OK - thanks (duh!) - got it now. That's why this forum is great. Gotta question..... get an answer. Cheers guys
  3. I am intrigued as to why our Stoke match has been rated as Group A game. Top price like Arsenal, Man U Whereas Man C, say, is Group B. Anyone got any ideas why this might be? Just curiosity.......
  4. Given the interesting stuff on other threads - maybe Jimmy will be seen to have been hasty - tho all in a good cause mind :-)
  5. Another Alzheimers vote
  6. Those two bookie lists show someone called "Kevin Davis" Who he???
  7. How about Everton to be relegated (doing a Villa)....?

Great scheme Trev but in some countries I would suggest you will be hard pressed to find somewhere to watch the match as not all countries stream Premier League football - especially if they have established and well-followed leagues of their own. I am living in Rome and the only way to get to see Saints matches (except by travelling to UK) is via "dodgy streams" and the like - which is far from reliable. Maybe you should start up a sweepstake on how many of the 38 you actually manage to watch live......???
  9. Well, they have just gone 1-up. Kane.
  10. Thoroughly agree - and thankful that Man City have "bigger fish to fry" before and after our game against them. Or is that grasping at straws? They looked very good - at a canter - against Stoke today
  11. Even though Jose has been a regular in our team since League One days?.......?
  12. (corrected post - I must have deleted a line as I posted it!!) Shance, Surman has posted a picture of a pyramid. It does sound like it is just another pyramid scheme, dressed up differently. The money comes from somewhere and ultimately will go somewhere else. Only the first people in make any money - those that join later all lose. End of. You may want to research pyramid schemes m8.

  14. Funny you mention lessons Sue - I am looking for a class to attend in Ostia in the New Year.... Meanwhile looking out of my window in the far north east of Italy I can see the snow line coming down the mountain. Must look my skis out :-)
  15. I am working with the Italian Army - they have some new training kit which they need help getting their heads around. Yes I agree that, when I mention being a Saints ST holder, at least people do know who the team is - the Chelsea result was noted!! This coming weekend I am leaving my car at Treviso (nr Venice) and flying out Friday, back Monday. Such commitment! Should we try and meet to watch the next saints away match (Liverpool) on TV somewhere in/near Rome? Might be difficult, though, as it clashes with the Italy footy day on Sunday but......?
  16. That's a KRUL blow
  17. ps - hope that was a reasonable attempt - I am still very much in the learning phase!
  18. Ciao St Marco, Si - sono in Italia per lavora. Habito in Roma/Ostia ma mia lavora e ancora Lecce, Sardigna et Sud Tirol! Questa fini setemana vado a Saints vs Leicester
  19. The answer to your question should be here..... http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php
  20. I think you make some good points but we have lost two first team players and supposedly signed at least 2 to replace them - probably more when we see our new signings settle in. Which is the key. If our new players settle in well, we will be fine. If they turn out to be misfits then not. But I think this particular aspect is indeed somehting that the club has learned about since Osvaldo etc. Oh - and we have the "new signing" that is JayRod back..... Rekax and see where it goes. Its only a game mate (dives for cover!)
  21. I am surprised no-one has commented on the comments made by Les on Gaston. Nothing that hasn't been aired on this SW "forum if highest intellect" but interesting to see that Les specifically talked about him as apposed to, say, JWP (who didn't blossom last season as many hoped). Either he had fingers on both hands firmly crossed behind his back as a last ditch "hope we don't have to add his name to the wasted money list" or he genuinely believes something may be about to change.
  22. Oh booger - I clearly didn't look far enuff down the trail
  23. After last season starting and ending away from home it would be nice to get a home match for the final day this time. Maybe Bompey??
  24. Surely the most impressive stat is in the goals... We scored the same number but let in 13 fewer. I suggest that was the most significant difference those stats show
