  1. OK. So; it seems that: 1. The football match was drawn....but... 2. Southampton then progressed to the next round (and Norwich did not) because the tie (or fixture) was decided by a penalty shoot out. 3. Southampton won the shoot-out and therefore won the tie/fixture. 4. But the matched finished as a 2-2 draw and this match result was unaltered by anything that happened subsequently 5. Statistics for the season (club win/lose stats, player goal scoring stats etc) are calculated from matches completed. Additional activities such as shoot-outs are excluded from statistics as they are not part of the core business of 11 vs 11 football matches.
  2. Taken from the BBC's "FA Cup" page - fixtures: Tuesday, 8 December 2009 Luton v Rotherham, R2R, 19:45
  3. Saganowski and Paterson leading the line...... Hmmm... Where would we be now I wonder?
  4. Just realised I quoted the wrong post - but you get the drift....!!!
  5. From what I hear you need co come home before Dubai comes crashing down around you, Eric. But then that could be another media-hype-induced overstatement!...?
  6. And allegedly live on line if you are the gambling kind..... £2, followed by "will it" - "won't it?" type of gamble
  7. Slight flaw in my plan then....
  8. Do we still do PMs on this Forum or am I displaying my numpty-ness and how out-of-date I am?
  9. My "match-going buddy" has just told me he can't come so I have two tickets for todays match (Kingsland North) but just the one derriere to plant. PM me if you are ticketless but wanna go. If i get swamped I don't guarantee to reply to all PMs....
  10. To think being second from bottom - and 67th overall in the English Football rankings - should so inspire you!
  11. ......or shot for undue and irresponsible optimism by some of the desperately pesimistic posters on this forum...
  12. I don't think that 5 is a particular milestone, neither is 2 - the only thing that is certain is that memories do fade. The most relevant observation is that 25th April was THE DAY and, this year, we have a home match on that day....something which only happens every dozen years or so. I think that is the real point being made - its an opportunity to mark THE DAY.
