Where? I didn't know this thread was about the Treatment Room.... I'll get me coat

Must be you m8....works OK for me. Maybe you've been blacklisted.....or the OS has put you on "ignore".....????
-
Capitalsaint out...!!!

I rocked up on the day vs Shrews and paid £15, not £17 and not £15 "plus tax" so either the Cheltenham arrangement is different in this one respect or there's a slight detail mismatch here. Shame - I was assuming on avoiding the "tax" by buying on the day again!

The bit in bold seems to fit well with leftback's comment this morning about "Connolly issues".....?
-
If you do a little investigation of leftback's posts, you may very well be surprised. I spent some time doing this when the thread first started about "not ignoring leftback" - and there are some real gems in there. Many were dismissed by other opinionated posters, only to be proven true in hindsight. Afterall, hindsight is the clearest sight of all. Maybe, if you used it, you would see for yourself....

There's away grounds where you can watch the football, support your team and generate some sort of atmosphere.......and then there's Brighton!!! Whether we go up, down or sideways this season, there's one piece of REALLY good news for next season - guaranteed not to have to go to the pooh pile of a ground that is the Withdean, sit half a mile behind one goal, right down low; see almost nothing; hear barely half the action; struggle to generate any sound....and probably get wet to boot. It's quite simply crap...(so bad, in fact, that I got a Home End, mid-pitch ticket last season. At least I had a clue what was happening in the match!) Oh - and you gotta stand with your back to the wall if you go for a pint down town :-)
-
It's certainly an interesting statistical anomoly - Brighton have scored 21 goals - whereas Peterborough, 6 points below them, have scored 33 and have two players listed (we've only scored 13 which does indeed tell it's own story).

I thought Oldham's workrate in the first half was the reason they nearly went in 1-up at half-time. They seemed to have two players on every Saints player within 2 seconds of him geting the ball. They paid the price later though, as they tired and that's when OC came on to weave his magic. I thought Danny had an excellent game - both defensively and linking through to Punch and then OC - its gonna be hard for Frazer R to get into the team at all, on this showing!. Agree that Guly and Barney seemed to work well together - was a bit concerned that Rickie seemed to be "avin' words" with Guly late on in the first half - detected things not 100% rosy between them. Adam had a few quiet moments but also flashes of brillance. He is definitely a real handful for opposing defenses, not only with his skill and unpredictability but his default mentality is to be positive, always look to create something and not dwell on the ball except when necessary. In my view, Chappers worked very hard all match, broke down a lot of opposition possession (especially in the second half) but was guilty of giving the ball away cheaply a few times.

It seems to me that Adkins has outlawed any sort of passing/distribution that could be described a s speculative. I can confidently say that I did not see Kelvin kick the ball aimlessly upfield ONCE - not once - in the first half. Every time he had the ball it went along the ground to one of the back four and then to midfield (often as not to Hammond). It was excellent to see such confident and effective football without any of the hoofing which seems to lead to losing the ball more often than winning it. I noticed that, when Fonte tried a couple of long "up and over" passes which ended up missing their target or being intercepted by the opposition, he was rollocked by Kelvin (which is quite ironic really!). Only in the second half did Kelvin kick any beyond the defence and that was when Tranmere sussed our system and actually started marking our back four when Kelvin had the ball! End result - an excellent game of football, real confidence builder. Onwards and upwards? OH YES!

You've missed the mark, sir.....we are now at 34. (Mind you, two of them are mine - just drawing attentiin to the post count - perhaps they shouldn't count?)

Looks like I should thank Mr Strover for responding to my chiding - and also, it appears, paying "the necessary" to become a Full Member.....cos he was a 3-a-day man up to last night !! Welcome, sir!

DS has one last post from his allowance left for today....will he use it? Or will he leave us in suspension???
-
Come on, DS - as the Chairman of Naaarwch would say - "lets be avin' you!" In other words - spill the beans m8...........
-
David Strover might be the guy with the light bulb if you seek an illuminated path to enlightenment.....as, indeed, we all do !
-
Come on Bridgey - leave off - you're role playing this thread far too well. There are people that simply won't be able to keep up with you .... !!
-
Go on then - tell us what you've heard..... even if we've heard it before....... you know we wanna know!

From an employer's perspective, there are reasons why this would be necessary - and it does look like Cortese was faced with one such (non-footballing) indesputable reason. The lack of explanation was probably the result of a two-way gagging agreement.......probably by necessity for reasons of damage limitation. Its a shame, but we have to accept it now, move on and salvage our season.. This is FAR from impossible.

Need to add a response to try and get this thread to magic 32

Probably just indicates that the Scunny chairman didn't want to lose his "star manager" and pricing us out was about the only influence he could bring to bear. Sound approach I reckon - if I were a Scunny fan I'd be pleased with that.
-
Surely you don't expect phoning in for an ST refund to be met with any sort of positive response do you, Charlie....? I mean, buying a Season Ticket is a gamble - if you win, you get to see 19 (or however many it is) home games in the same seat at a reasonable price without having to go to the trouble of buying a ticket for each and every match (and pay the fee) - if you lose, you have to watch utter crud and pay for the privilege.....like yesterday. Think of the Football Club as a Bookies - you've lost your bet and want your stake back... really expect that to fly?

A change of manager at this stage of the season is normally a step back. Over the last season-and-a-bit, AP has assembled a squad of players that fit his bill...whether it gets 100% support of Saints Forum or not, that's the way he will have built the squad. A new manager comes in and finds that he wants to play a slightly different way (inevitably) and, surprise surprise, hasn't got exactly the righjt tool box set-up for the job he wants to do. Fitting of round pegs into square holes normally ensues, followed by disgruntlement of the old manager's chosen men, followed by ..... (insert your own conclusion here)
-
It looks like Guly has solved the problem??
-
And all will be classed as "Home Grown" under the newly emerging (and to be further squeezed in future) rules about squad make-up. Big old bonus for when we are back in the Prem :-)

Markus. Legend of this club in a short time; tragically short. You saved us when we needed a true Saint and we responded by taking you to Wembley, the home of football. You rewarded us fans by demonstrating a simple, almost child-like happiness to wear your red scarf and cheer the boys on. We can associate with you at this level - in so many ways "just one of us". May the Saints in heaven take you to rest and kiss you farewell.
