  4. Norwich has a flyover?
  5. To be expected after what has happened this summer - until we start to be seen to be playing 'good football' and it can be seen that any risks associated with us (i.e. relegation) have gone away, we will simply not be attractive to what we see as 'class' players. It is simply unrealistic to expect it to be any different. Sad, considering where we were last year, but, hey, life's a bîtch, it's happened, it cannot be changed, so let's get on with the new season - you never know, it might just turn out to be a damn good one!
  6. But you're not saying he's deliberately/intentionally unavailable, just fragile/unlucky?
  7. Do you not imagine he is examined by the team doctor - or perhaps you believe it's his Mum who writes him said sick note - "Dear Mr Koeman, Gaston cannot do PE today because....." Of course, he could just be a malingerer?
  8. Nope, I don't think any amount was 'officially' stated other than to say monies received would be added to already available funds. Many then presumed we would be spending all of the money 'unofficially' banded about ie the alleged £35m chest + presumed £95m transfers in this window.
  9. The continued, self-engrandising arrogance of some posters on here never ceases to amaze - be it deliberate or not! Fortunately their opinion is worth precisely what others have paid for it.
  10. I will wait to see if MS or whoever goes or stays (prefer the latter of course) - but whatever we look like on 02.09 so be it, this will be our reality and we'll just have to accept it and get on with it and leave the past behind. But this really does come across as being very pompous, I'm sure it wasn't intended as such but life can, at times, deal a bîtch of a hand and promises made can easily become promises broken - telling untruths doesn't come into it.
  11. Just done a compare between the new away shirt and the old 'pin-stripe' Umbro home shirt - quite simply, on the pin-strip, there is, in effect, an additional panel of material, about 2" or so wide, running down each side of the shirt that is 'missing' on the new shirt and it is this that gives the extra roominess that is missing with the new kit. New kit is longer though. Maybe something missing/omitted/forgotten from the new design?
  12. Just bought one of these shirts - very nice, but the sizing?!! I'm 46" chest, 36" waist (with a smidge of overhang), 16st so not small by any stretch, which, ironically, is what said shirt had to do! Last year I had a 3XL so I could put it on over normal clothes so help me keep warm. A little baggy but comfortable. Duly bought a 3XL in the new away strip - oh dear. Only just fits wearing as is, if a little too tailored (fine over the shoulders, 'unflattering' over the gut), so 4XL would have been more comfortable to wear. Daresay, I will need to look at the 5XL at least to be able to put it over anything.
  13. or crunchy frog?
  14. You know, you guys just don't stop dominating this forum with your unwanted personal-agro prattle. Please just give it a rest, keep to reasoned debate, leave the insults out of it and allow the rest of us to have a pleasant experience on here and maybe, just maybe pick up some useful tid-bits of info we wouldn't otherwise get. Seeing you lot constantly trying to do each other is tiresome. By all means 'in your opinion', but not 'opinionated'. Thanks.

  16. Just an observation from someone not too far off retirement. As I tell my lad, when you start work, all that matters for the first few years is money/salary. Then you start to develop your career, get ambitious, need to be No1 and get to a position of 'power' so you can get more money, more perks, more blah blah blah etc. But, if like for AB, someone comes in over you, it can be pretty destroying to your persona especially if the joinee has the eye of the boss instead of you - just makes you want to leave to be able to progress your career elsewhere. Being a good No2 just doesn't come into it! Then time passes, career is no longer important and, especially when the job becomes second nature, all that matters is the money again (which is where I am now). So, where is AB? Still career driven or approaching his 'retirement' (figurative, not actual)? Pîssed off he is no longer No1 so wants to move on? Or happy just to earn the money? Because this will completely determine what he does next. I very much want Artur to stay, but I am selfish and think only of the squad and having the choice of 2 top international goalies would be so good for SFC. But I can understand why Artur would maybe want to leave if he can see he still has growth in his career. Not a question of manning-up or 'growing-some', it's more fundamental to him than that. But Irene - tell him to stay and take the money - there's plenty worse things he could do! And you never know, FF may just break his hand!
  17. For god's sake guys MOVE ON!!!

  20. To stop going to St Mary's - only if the next posting is 'out of the area'. To stop supporting SFC - nothing, certainly not this summers travails (nor the bed-wetting wrist-slitters here either - you know who you are!)
