  1. Quote from son who was at the game... Shocking! Terrible game management Crying out for subs. Too late
  2. Thinking that maybe the owners are either hoping for a Ted Lasso epiphany from the Wiz or planning the failure of "AFC Richmond"?
  3. Me - am I not in my right mind? Or a you just being a gobshite for fun?
  4. What the dickens is Levy's game plan here?
  5. Had mine done in Winchester by Mr Gore - what a name for a surgeon! Bring in his mates Drs De'ath and Blood and you've got a proper team! Hope you get the all clear chap, that is what really matters. The procedure is, errr, different, but you do get to have a look around inside as it were. The bladderoscopy (or whatever it's called) is a damn sight more challenging. Only one way in for that! Same size sodding camera though....
  6. Point of order…. You should perhaps have quoted these figures…. not these… So not such a ‘cheeky’ return as you (disingenuously) put it, but certainly better than the rates you and I could get. What's more interesting is that it suggests that the remaining £4.5m in interest comes from the ~£30m non-owner loans, or 15%. Makes Kat's 5% look a bargain
  7. Under seat heating!

    Puel

Not being a technical football chappie, so looking for an explanation here ..... are those of you saying that our players can't 'do' the diamond thing that Puel has introduced intimating its because they're basically one trick ponies?? Surely any footballer worth his salt can play any style or tactical nuance (given practice) and indeed change it at will as circumstances require or don't our players do that? So you're really saying our players are shît? After all, it's the players who do the ball-kicking thing.....
  9. None of this really matters

    Puel

As Poch said, the language of football is international. Puel's public persona is irrelevant, his football language is the important one. ...btw, your written delivery does come across as very pompous, I presume this wasn't intended. Perhaps neither is Puel's 'droning prosody'?
  11. I saw what you did there!! ...in the Wags 'box' / Pardew You bad man
  12. My god, I'm doing it again, agreeing with Dalek. think I'd better log off and go lie down.....
  13. Same as with Dalek really (am I really saying this?) and same as for every year, 17th = acceptable, owt better a bonus, 18th or lower = bøllocks, ah well, Championship was well fun last time around. Not the end of the world. Still getting over no having to fight against relegation since promotion. Last 3 yrs have been brill but each season is a new one, so, 40pts pls M Puel (and if you can do that by January that would be MOST acceptable)
  14. No, not cynical...but standing back a little..... Must say it does seem a tad bizarre for our/any club to deliberately put out a 'failure' message as a forum leak such as Guan has just done, onto a forum that at best likely has 3% of a St Mary's worth of supporters looking at it. Same applies to positive leaks too. Audience is too small to justify it? Not only is it 'bad press' but, if accurate/correct, it just gives way too much information to other clubs who would likely think "ahh, when SFC come a-calling for [playersname] add on a few mill, they'll be desperate". It was even a 'secret' approach so why publicise it? Now, rather than just an exercise in feeding us suicidal sheep on SWF a few data-slops to slay our hunger for any news, if it is more a case of disinformation (but who knows for what purpose) then that would seem more credible and our ITKers then become mere SFC tools (in the nicest way) and players in the game. Still don't see why we'd leak an actual fail...... ...unless it's a smoke screen......?
  15. Alternatively.... last years squad and performance are worth 0 points to us. Past performance is no guarantee of future performance (viz Chelsea and Leicester). Saints do things VERY quietly, it is VERY quiet right now - time to feel those first gossamer hints of the excitement of new signings to come..... It's a new season, a new team, a new manager, a new beginning that may eventually just amaze us all.... Keep yer widdle-pants on guys, the fun's only just starting! ...and c'mon Alps, even you have truly no idea what's going to happen (other from your usual depressive interpretations) - exciting old game, isn't it.
  16. I remember the video snippet of Mane being splashed with water by VvD after a match we had won (think Mane may even have scored), Mane looked narked and was utterly po faced about it, muttered something back about "I'm ill" (allegedly) to which VvD gave the gesture equivalent of "oh ffs, lighten up". Now there's a face you present to the audience, but the face you present to your team mates should be the real, genuine you. That to me was someone whose head and heart were both certainly not part of the SFC team. And if he suddenly turns on the skills at Liverpool then shame on you Mr Unprofessional Mane. If we had kept him, I would not have been in the slightest surprised to see a more regular disappearance by SM. And yes, on his day he is a superb addition to any side - any side he wants to be a part of that is.
  17. Accepting the fact that Heisenbergs opinions and views are worth exactly what you and I pay him for them but he is absolutely free to make them (but whose deliberate acidic tone continually grates with me), my opinion is that, in the short term, Saints at best will be a 6th - 10th position club, whatever level that equates to. We have neither the 'traditional working class' mass of potential supporters nor a large enough catchment area in order to fill a 40k+ stadium on a regular basis which is a foundation for 'historical and acquired bigness' Don't forget SFC is a company, not a 'Saturday afternoon hobby', as such it has employees, salary and pension costs, HMRC bills, it has legal requirements, rates, rentals, etc etc and it has to generate it's own money in the best way that it can in order to continue with its existence. Get that? It has to generate money. It cannot rely on its owner to support it by putting money in to prop it up. So far, it would appear the KL has not taken 'much' (well, not 'much' in her world, a fortune in mine), ~£2m or so, when she would be fully and legally entitled to take dividends, require loans to be repaid etc. An 'inverse' investment you could call it - leaving the money in the club. I've had my own companies (now retired/sold) and was told very early on.... "Turnover is Vanity, Profit is Sanity, but Cash is King" Believe me, having a strong cash position should make us supporters happy. Personally I would be really happy to be repeating the last few seasons results in the future, with a good cup run every so often, playing attractive football. And if we do that by bringing in continued new-blood, then so be it. You will never stop a player having his head turned by a 'big' club, accept it. Bigs clubs + big money rule and no matter what we think, there are many bigger, more attractive clubs than us. But remember, last seasons squad and results is worth exactly 0 points to us this season, so whatever it looked like then is irrelevant. As has been said before, if bigger clubs come a-poaching, SFC have been doing a good job. SFC is here for the long term, really long term, like long after the majority of us have popped off. Given that length of time, continued good financial planning, good continued team building, we will grow to be a big club, but that takes time, (and yes) money but also a decent foundation to work with. And that's what I believe SFC are working towards, a strong, if not spectacular, growth. Think strategic vs. tactical. So you billy-bigger-bøllocks supporters who need to spend, spend, spend to see 'proper ambition' ought perhaps reconsider what really is the best ambition to have... the Saints way or the crash-and-burn Pompey way.
  18. Oh, ok. So it's nothing to do with more money, or Man Utd enquiring, or 'one last golden pay day' or such like. It's because the squad and manager isn't to his liking so he's throwing a strop and wants to leave. Can't have it both ways, so which is it? The pull of a big club or a hissy strop? (if the latter, he can fück right off and train with the 8yr olds for two years) My opinion, he'd prefer Porto or similar, but Man Utd would be a good place to end your career, more money being a bonus. Would certainly turn my head. (yes, we won the 2016 Euros and then I went to play for Man Utd! Yes, truly! Man Utd ffs, can you believe it? Me at Man Utd!??) SFC will always be a middling team, the draw of the top 4/5, irrespective of European football or not, will always pull players away and we should simply stop bleating about it and look for the 'next one in' instead. And on that note.... who/where should we look to to replace Fonte?
  19. ..anyone have any comments about this from Jack then?
  20. I saw it going from 65k per week at first to what was an error of 65k a month. It was comparing his wage to that of his missus' 'friend' - he was on €200 per week which also got changed to an obviously wrong €200 per month.

  22. Dull for sure, but depressives such as your good self do tend to raise a chortle or two for which we thank you.
