  1. rodriguez and morgan coming on shortly.
  2. Deserves that smack either way!
  3. Poyet just giving Borini a rollicking for diving then after moaning at the ref for not giving a pen. Nice one Gus.
  4. http://metro.co.uk/2013/02/25/whos-top-of-premier-leagues-own-goal-scoring-charts-3514686/ Jos more worrying than Fox imo, Jos worried me even in the Championship. Fairly confident we would have drawn with Spurs this year if not for Hooiveld, and would have had a better points tally come the end of last season if he wasn't so insistent on scoring at the wrong end.
  5. I'm not having a go, yes, 3rd to 8th seems a tad anti climactic, but you seriously couldn't have expected us to keep that form up in only our second season back in the prem, could you? Just change the perspective (league 1 to 8th in prem) and it's not all doom and gloom, eh?
  6. So consider where we were the november before, and it sounds a miracle.
  7. https://mtc.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/8F3BE284171045481197414789120_1a45adc3744.4.7.5725826327087842318.mp4?versionId=Pn3sSm0kL7XsbxuG_70xuidhF3TS.qtJ Looks like he took it quite badly!
  8. Saints are only 2 points behind Man United in the Premier League with 12 games to go. I never thought I would say that...
  9. that Guly tackle was a little reminiscent of Oscar Goberns attempt vs Bournmouth a couple years back...
  10. wouldn't we have gone above them with a draw, too? Our goal difference is much better
  11. This is reminding me of the game vs West Brom at home a few weeks ago. Really hoping for the same outcome, too!
  12. I can see your point there, and agree that we can push on and do what they have done and break into the top 6, but, as OP says, we need to keep hold of current squad (and add to it) if we have any chance of doing so, IMO.
  13. And how much did they spend to do so?
  14. I think in the timescale of which Croydonsaint has been a fan (since the 60's), "now" is probably a relative term. Having seen plenty of false dawns in the clubs history before, this is one of the best teams we've had - with the academy products, international quality and coaching staff - we have the nucleus of the greatest saints team ever. For us, teams like this don't come around too often and so I think that after years of ups and downs, its not too much of croydonsaint to want a little stability and some reassurances from the club. So i think that "now" is, historically, the perfect time if we want to see anything that equates to, or gets near to, success.
  15. Cheers for this. So many more great saves than mistakes. Best keeper for us since Niemi imo.
  16. Boruc also was influential in earning us points this season, with numerous saves against Swansea, Liverpool, the three at Fulham just a couple of weeks ago +others. Can think of more times where he's pulled off worldy saves (ie Van Persie header last season) than major cock ups (Arsenal away).
  17. Jack Hobbs own goal from a Fox cross, I think. Neither players around for a reenactment, although i have a feeling the scoreline could be the same.
  18. Were you the guy with the demagnetized travel card?
  19. Were you at the Fulham game last week?
  20. Get in!! Wind our 12th man there.
  21. I think that J-Rod's England game could be used as an argument against his inclusion in the squad, although he is making a great case for himself in the league this year. Lambert making a very strong case for himself. Think clyne has the least chance of the group of breaking into the England squad in time.
  22. Ah how the humour lasted there, eh...!
  23. Get in! Great goal. Wonder if the stoke fans will persist with the "shoooot" calls whenever Begovic gets a touch.
  24. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1950214-off-to-brazil-which-southampton-players-will-play-in-world-cup-2014 Interesting article here that discusses our potential World Cup hopefuls and their chances of traveling. Would love to see Lambert go more than any of them. Think we could be represented by quite a few players this summer.
  25. I think the fee the club paid for him has clouded the judgement of people when watching him. He looked good in his youtube videos, but so did Steve de Ridder, the only difference being that we paid £12m for one and considerably less for the other. Posters like Barry Sanchez and Alpine seem to forget that he didn't decide how much money we spent on him. Was vital in winning us points in some games last season, and pulled all the strings in midfield vs Villa, Arsenal and Newcastle last season and has looked even better this year whenever called upon.
