With some of Altidore's performances, I was surprised he even got that many!

Just spoken with our Dutch visitor. Voice lit up when talking about Tadíc - "One of the best players I have seen in our league recently. Very talented, is technically gifted in ways that lots of other players aren't." He was keen to explain how good he is going forward and reeled off his goal scoring and assist stats that we have all seen - said he would fit in well. On Pellé (he pronounced it Pell-ah, though that could just be the way he speaks) - "He is a phenomena, we found him on the beach and Koeman gave him a chance. Before this no one really wanted him. He plays well for Koeman, but hasn't always done the same for other coaches." Said he thinks that if he was to get chances, he would score anywhere but said to expect maybe 2 red cards a year. Very enthusiastic about the way he held the ball up and ability to bring other players into the game. On Koeman, he was also very enthusiastic, although didn't say anything we don't already know. Was explaining that young players thrive under him, and that quite a few have progressed into the national team. Said that he is good at bringing the best out of players and getting players to play for the team and for him. Was very positive in general - mostly about Tadíc and Koeman, but seemed to think that Pellé is a gamble, despite scoring 50 goals in 2 years.

We've got a visitor in from our Dutch office today. As soon as he stops talking about bloody work, I'll ask him if Pellé and Tadíc are any good!

That would undermine the fiver paid by everyone else, surely? Their input is great, and some who pay don't contribute as much, but if you bend the rules for two good posters - others will try and get free passes, too. A fiver a year is not too much to ask, everyone else who wants to pay - does.

That picture looks like it's taken straight from the Daily Star! Not fussed Lallana has gone, although I am worried that £25 million pounds now buys you a player who only scores 12 goals in two years, with similar or lower assist stats - how much are we going to have to pay to replace him with someone who knows more than just the Cruyff Turn? Seems absolutely classless, it seems his over-hype really has gotten the better of him.

Frustratingly, I can see your point! Looking at someone like West Brom, who I believe the year before last had a high finish and then we all saw where they ended up last year and who we appointed now. I do however feel that our owners and the people running the club are a bit savvier than those running the teams like West Brom and Swansea and hope that we can at least hold our position and potentially do what teams like Everton and up until recently, of course) Fulham did and occasionally break into Europe!

Do you feel this is true for all PL teams?

Luke Garbutt the Everton LB would be one I'd like to see us get, if we were to sign a young english defender. Outside of England there are plenty of quality young left backs we could get, and if we do have higher targets then I assume that we will be buying from abroad.

Probably the going rate for the highest scoring Italian striker outside of Italy playing in one of the top leagues in Europe (well, one of the bottom of the top leagues in Europe!). Think clubs might start expecting a bit more now that we have said we will reinvest player sales and then made £50m+ in one day....!
