  1. Or maybe (if it is all done) they're putting together a nice PR package, conducting an interview to release with the announcement... or maybe he doesn't even exist! He's just a big ploy invented by Liverpool to get us to let go of Lallana quicker!!
  2. Not moaning, I actually came on here to ask a question about it:
  3. Can we hold off on the moaning, on this topic at least, until then though?
  4. You do know that just by making someone slightly bigger, it doesn't actually add any depth to your posts, right, Glasgow?
  5. What is it with the "the board don't know what they're doing" argument? Can you please tell me when you would ever need to hear from the "Financial guy"? When was the last time the Financial Director of any club released a statement? Of course he has "disappeared from the face of the Earth" because this is a behind the scenes role, have you taken leave of your senses? As far as Krueger goes, you don't always hear from the Chairmen of most other clubs either, except for when they are new to the role. We've had that wave of PR from him getting his name about and so now he can again fade into his behind the scenes role. The same goes for Leibherr, what could you want to hear from her? And when was the last time that Jeremy Peace or Brendon Flood came out with a PR charm offensive? Why do you need to hear from these people to feel they are doing anything? These positions are behind the scenes roles, and the only reason we were hearing from them in the first place was because we had no manager to do the talking for them. Now we have Koeman, who has a press conference on Friday, and now we don't need to rely on behind the scenes guys coming out and doing the public talking.
  6. Haha I know where you're coming from with this, especially the "and far far more"!
  7. We've already got one schemer in the squad, do we really need another?
  8. I couldn't agree more, if Southampton don't sign some bloke most of us had never heard of two weeks ago, then the new manager who is quite clearly well respected already by the players he has met, and who has the best history in the game of any manager we have had in recent times is the wrong man for the job!
  9. Questions like "why are you so reactionary, S-Clarke?" Questions must be asked of their board, that's for sure! (I say with such a pretense of authority that even I now think my opinion matters...)
  10. Have got an HTC One (Mini) - is the best phone I have ever had, and would thoroughly recommend it. The quality of the camera is not the best i have seen on a phone, Samsung's seem to take the best pictures, but in terms of effects and things like that there are a lot of things you can tinker about with.
  11. This was something I forgot to address in the OP. If our fans think their opinion matters to the point where they feel the need to let the players or managers know it so directly, it's surely only a matter of time until these people end up slating Koeman on there too if we end up on a bad run or a signing doesn't work out! I know that these figures likely won't pay much attention to these prats, but it does reflect badly on our fanbase. Unfortunately I am not surprised at all! Couldn't have put your analogy better myself.
  12. He has neither confirmed, nor denied anything (as far as I can see). Did respond to a few saints fans and official club account that wished him happy birthday, though there isn't really anything in that. I can understand people's frustrations with him, I just don't think that it's very smart to directly insult him!
  13. This probably doesn't apply to most people on here, but I've just had a little look at the #saintsfc hashtag on twitter and a few comments on Dejan Lovren's official twitter. I'm pretty shocked at how ridiculous some of our fans are on Social Media, directly contacting Lovren and calling him all the names under the sun, calling him disloyal and really laying into him in a way that really will not endear our fanbase to an already alienated (sounding) Lovren. I know his comments in the media have been dreadful this morning, but until anything concrete happens, directing such negativity towards a player is going to have a very detrimental effect on any chance we may have of keeping him, and I can't get my head around the fact that some of these people don't see that. Has anyone on here taken to Twitter or Instagram to directly have a pop at him or any of the others that have gone? Would be interested to hear what you hoped to achieve by doing so! Here are some that I've seen:
  14. Is it common practice for clubs to do this? Noticed Arsenal do a similar thing, but hadn't seen it before! http://www.arsenal.com/media-watch
  15. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dusan-tadic-to-everton/thread/forum/180/thread_id/3237/page/1 http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/everton-eyeing-fc-twente-midfielder-dusan-tadic-4026070#.U7k0n_ldVuI http://www.eatsleepsport.com/eredivisie/everton-linked-with-tadic-swoop-1777437.html#.U7k0o_ldVuI That last one is from yesterday, although reports have linked Tadíc to Everton for a while now.
  16. Rodriguez seems committed to the cause and I think he could again be amazing for us once back from injury. Ramirez has his best chance yet to step up to the plate. Would like to see Ings come in but there is no chance that he will "smash 20 for us". Rodriguez, Boruc and Schneiderlin if he stays, plus Tadíc if he signs and Ramírez if he steps up to be the 'hero's', for me!
  17. This! Haha Got to question a mans integrity when he leaves guaranteed champions league football for the promise of champions league football at a club that have never had it. As above, there seems way too many quotes for this too have been made up, but I can't see someone being stupid enough to come out and say this while still with us? What if the deal doesn't go through or Liverpool find a new target and he has to spend the next year playing for a team he has openly said he doesn't want to play for? Idiot. Don't care if he goes, as long as he doesn't go to Liverpool. Their fans that I know are already acting smug enough they've got two of our players, without getting one more!
  18. Ah my favourite saga, the "Club banned from transfers buying the player banned from football"! Depends which reports you read though: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/luis-suarez-to-barcelona-63m-fiveyear-deal-agreed-for-liverpool-striker-according-to-reports-in-spain-9586011.html http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/04/liverpool-yet-to-reach-agreement-with-barcelona-over-transfer-of-luis-suarez http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2679995/Luis-Suarez-set-complete-80million-Barcelona-48-hours.html I think there's still a bit of time left in this one.
  19. I think most do, we just may not follow other clubs as closely as Saints to see the full length of the process. Just look at how long is took Chelsea to get the Diego Costa deal over the line, or how long Bale to Madrid took - I know these are big money examples, but the principle is the same.
  20. I think you'd know better than to do that, MLG! I think the quote from the OS, posted above, is more reliable but says the same thing, really, he was a initially midfielder. Also, I know he's not the fastest, but he is actually quite powerful and difficult to shake off the ball, I remember a lot of good runs from him going forward last year and he seems to have the capability to beat a man with skill instead of just raw pace. Wouldn't want to rely on him as an out and out winger, but I think he has the ability.
  21. Wiki has him as a right back, but once refers to him as "the midfielder: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calum_Chambers) I think he started out as a midfielder and we moved him into defence as his qualities are more suited to right back than right wing. Having said that, I think he could be suited to a wing back style, like the Dutch have employed at this World Cup, where Daley Blind has not really looked like an out an out winger or full back!
  22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Garbutt Luke Garbutt, think he would be a good shout for us, although think we might look to go for someone with more experience than him as we already have a young full back coming in.
  23. Easier than looking things up or having to actually know anything
  24. Although I am sure there are people who do think that, I haven't seen that opinion expressed even once before you just mentioned it! I myself feel much more comfortable with Koeman at the helm that Pochettino. When we appointed him, some Spurs fans on Twitter and on their forum were asking if it was too late to swap as we had the better new manager. Does that suggest a downgrade, too?
  25. Moreover, which proven Premier League managers would be available that have a similar history of success in the game than Koeman?
