Just a heads up, Ribeirão Preto is in Brazil, you might want to edit that "provincial town in France" bit before they ignore the meaning of you post and focus on the lack of geographical knowledge
-
Were you told what you heard before or after Koeman and Schneiderlin spoke? Because while it may have been true at the time, things may have changed, it's been quite a while since the French were in Ribeirão Preto now...
-
Don't you always think that?
-
Liverpool fans on twitter claiming that they have done great business to get £95 million for Borini, Assaidi and Suarez. Nice to see they have forgotten they spent £80m on Lallana, Carrol and Downing.
-
This is probably the biggest factor with why he is still with us. Good in the dressing room for team spirit and morale, by the looks of things. We also probably keep him in the team because the younger CB's (likely) aren't quite ready to step up yet so instead of playing them and knocking their confidence, he is there to step in when Lovren / Fonte and Yoshida can't play.
-
Haha here you go again MLG with your facts, and logic. That's not welcome here!!
-
McQueen got the third. Yeah, final score was six nil (Pellé twice, McQueen, Own Goal, Mayuka [pen], Gallagher).
-
Not all new signings turn out well, though!
-
5-0 now, Mayuka pen
-
They're also close to signing Fraizer Campbell and Steven Caulker, both good additions for them.
-
Try again? That implies we have tried once before already. Hadn't heard his name mentioned before in relation with us.
-
Wait, so you think that we can take the hit of losing Lovren, who was integral to our defensive improvements last year both through his leadership on the field and his general play, just because he's a bit of a tit - but you think we should play Billy Sharp? Have you no desire to see us push on?! This mindset worries me about some of our fanbase. Lovren has been an idiot, but putting that aside, he is one of the best footballers that we have, and if we want to progress or even consolidate, then we need a whole squad at the level of Lovren, Schneiderlin, J-Rodand therefore we shouldn't even entertain the idea of "taking the hit" on Lovren. Now if only we could take the hit on Billy Sharp... If we both lose Lovren but prove in the first few weeks that we didn't need him and Billy Sharp turns out to be a relatively successful premier league striker, then I will owe you an apology for doubting your every post going forward.

He probably isn't readying this, so I doubt this thread will have any bearing on his confidence - and if he were reading, the reviews haven't exactly been good for him! I don't understand that "never matured" sentiment, what does that mean? We signed him to do a job and he did it, and then once that job was done and we were in the Premier League we no longer needed him and our style of play has developed such that he no longer fits into our team. As I said above, the fact that two good managers have decided that he isn't good enough to play in the Premier League and subsequently loaned him out all season suggests to me that these people who know what they're doing (more than any of us lot) don't think he is good enough either.
-
Anyone fancy a game of "whose got a crush on Billy Sharp"?
-
If Billy Sharp was good enough for the league, then why have both of the managers who have had the chance to select him decided against doing so and subsequently loaned him out all season? Two years in a row? He is not a Premiership striker. He doesn't possess much technical ability or pace and I don't remember seeing much industry from him in the Championship. Koeman today suggested he will deploy a 4-3-3 formation next year, and I would imagine that means Jay Rod and Tadíc will be flanking a target man like Pellé in the middle with a back up striker on the bench who has more to their game than just poaching scruffy goals. Sharp is too small to be a target man, not good enough to hold up play on his own for a whole game and even though he might get a couple of goals if he were to play a lot of game, I feel he would be taking up a space on the pitch that there are much better candidates for. If Sharp gets on the pitch this year, I will seriously worry about the depth of our squad. Billy Sharp is the workingmans Adam Le Fondre, and even Le Fondre isn't that good.
-
Not even close to being good enough, and is a question that really shouldn't even need to be asked. As above, he has failed to impress in the Championship in the last couple of seasons when out on loan.
-
I think as soon as he has got a consistent end product he will be a great player. Some of his skills are very easy on the eye though so will be exciting to see more of him. Think we'll be seeing him spend quite a bit of time on the floor though, he seems to go down faster than a British girl offered a free drink in Magaluf

Chelsea don't need a left back as they have apparently agreed a deal with Athletico Madrid for their left back, Luiz. Failing that, they are monitoring the situation of Marcos Rojo, both whom are currently better than Shaw. Don't see what your point is, as Shaw told us he wanted to play for United, signed for United, and Chelsea never came in for him - which I would suggest would have been quite an important factor for him to be able to sign for them!

Koeman's first Southampton press conference 11/7/14
Beckenham Saint replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Pastor Patrón being a tedious bore in yet another (albeit in vain) attempt to maybe one day be as good a wum as Glasgow or Turkish, this is new and exciting. Absolutely. I believe Morgan is our best player, and invaluable to us. Will be a massive boost if he stays. Knowing Lovren has a way back, despite revealing himself to be a tit, is also good news as he is a quality player, and it's nice to know that Pellé is close to signing but the news on Schneiderlin is the best thing to come out of that press conference, for me. -

Haha I've just done the same (despite my above comment!) and it does seem that he has rather a lot of the "eggs" as followers! -

You are making it sound like you have a lot of time on your hands by suggesting that you have looked through most of Koeman's twitter followers to ascertain whether a majority even tweet or not! -

“Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.”

Haha that'll teach me to actively look for the information that I want to know instead of waiting for it to come to me on Twitter! Cheers MLG
