Exactly, they would have had an indication from his agent that there is a chance of this happening. If Reed has personally gone out as well it is encouraging as we must clearly be determined to get this one done, as I believe we hired an Italian middle-man to deal with the Taider / Osvaldo transfer in Italy (this was reported in some Italian media, we had someone out working on our behalf to get the deal done, I imagine this is common practice when looking into multiple deals at once, all in separate countries, it's good to see that Reed thought it would be time better spent personally working on the Rojo deal than Taider.) Clubs will usually have their first bid rejected, and if this is being reported as £9.5m then I assume that means the rumours of our previous, £11m, bid were wide of the mark - we'll probably now spend some time trying to find a middle ground between what we offered first and what they want, but if Reed is on hand I've actually got some confidence this may get done!

I've noticed they've got Lambert on the bench in one of their adverts, so maybe this year they really are pushing to be as realistic as possible!

You are joking, right? The article mentions he has been followed by Arsenal, Milan and Barcelona, hardly an unknown quantity..! He was in the Montpellier team that won the league a few years back and has nearly 30 caps for his country, would be a relative coup to sign him, although not a player we necessarily need right now!

Anyone else think he looks quite a "Taid-y" player in this? In all seriousness though, actually looks quite a good player. Pops up all over the pitch and looks like he keeps the ball well enough. I would say This is another old video I know (will insert in my next post due to the One video per post rule), but he looks to be very good winning the ball back and shows a few nice touches in keeping the ball as well. Looks like he likes to keep passing simple most of the time which is good to see as you don't (usually) score without the ball! In the first video linked I thought he looked more like a Steven Davies type player than Schneiderlin but the second video shows a few similar tackles and moves to Morgan last season. If we're playing 3 in midfield and Koeman wants two of each position in the squad then Taider, Davis, Morgan, Cork, Wanyama and JWP see's us covered there. People who have said that this position isn't a priority are probably right but if we have been tracking him for a while (not out of the question as we have clearly had scouts out in Italy and especially Bologna in recent times) then it makes sense for us to move for him now the opportunity has arisen to swap him with Osvaldo. Having just read up on him and watched about 20 minutes worth of youtube clips, I'm definitely excited by this addition to the squad!

I know you aren't the only one that calls him that, but it is more annoying than "Gashton") has to say he's excited to drum up excitement in the fanbase, he may know nothing about football ( ) but after everyone getting on their case they have to try and make as much positive noise about in-comings as possible to 'trick' the fans (mainly those with dirtied sheets) in to being happy again!
