  1. Just booked tickets for this one (and West Ham) - last time I was at the Den we tonked them 4-0! Hoping for a repeat performance!!
  2. They are a little funny in Norfolk...
  3. He said that we would spend every penny, but he didn't put a time frame on that. Fans assuming that we would spend it all in one window are taking their own meaning from what Krueger said and forgetting the part where he said that the money would be reinvested on wages and transfer costs... It would be ridiculous of us to spend all the money this window and then be left wanting during the January window after Koeman has had a couple of months to assess the squad fully.
  4. Think Hammond would have made a difference in the first 11 games in the Prem when Cork was injured. Don't think he's good enough to be a consistent starter at this level, but pleased to see him getting game time in the Prem having served us so well on our rise up the leagues!
  5. Adkins' Reading team have just gone 1 up against Ipswich.
  6. Sunderland 1 up at West Brom, Lee Catermole with the goal

  8. At the risk of sounding confrontational, how exactly have you come to that prediction?
  9. Have warmed to the idea of Shane Long playing for us, although was massively against it when the reports first came out regarding our interest. Hope he does well for us!
  10. You have said 8,254 things on here and I have never understood your logic in a single one of them. How can you say that we are in a relegation battle this season with such authority? The way you've phrased this post with such certainty it's almost as if you know what you're talking about, which on evidence of the other 8,253 things you've posted is clearly not the case. We have now got in place the most decorated manager in our history. We have a champions league winner at LB (Many Chelsea fans still maintain he was the man of the match in the final) with the option to buy next year, we have got in Europe's 3rd highest goalscorer of the last two years. We have signed the best player from the Eredivise. We have bought in Taider, who, on the evidence of his performance vs Bayer and his performances for Bologna and Algeria looks a class act. We can also sign him for £7m next summer if he turns out to be a poor acquisition. We have signed Englands 3rd choice goalkeeper for a record amount on a goalkeeper in the UK market. We are close to signing what looks like a very study CB and, admittedly for over the odds, an International striker with almost 150 Premier League appearances to his name in Shane Long. Which part of that is leading you to think we will be in a relegation battle? Is it having England's 3rd choice keeper in goal? Or having Europe's third highest goalscorer up front? Yeah, we lost Lambert - he was most likely going to be replaced this year (the evidence is in that we tried replacing him last year and almost sold him in January.) We've lost Lallana? He had one good Premier League season and will never be worth £25 Million again, best to take it while you can. He is, also, the Premier League player who lost the ball more times than anyone else in the league and didn't create as many chances as he should have done. Yeah, he looked good at getting himself out of trouble, but how many times did he get himself into trouble in the first place? Lovren? We had him for a year. The season before we signed him, although conceding more goals, we did stay up. We stayed up comfortably, despite both our terrible start to the season and our terrible finish. Chambers... Would have been great to keep him but after 25 apps, £16m is silly money. We potentially should have tried to keep him but who would you rather play for? Shaw, again, would have been great to keep him but for the money we got vs the amount of goals and assists he got it's outrageously good business. Yeah, he was a very accomplished defender, but then, so is Bertrand. Saint Robbie, if you're still reading - can you please explain your rationale as to why we are going to be in a relegation battle? I really feel you haven't thought about the positive changes made this summer and believe the talk of the "exodus" being as bad as Ben Smith will have you believe. Are you a Daily Mail reader, by any chance?
  11. As I said earlier in this thread (I think), he has no end product whatsoever. He hasn't been sent out on loan 9 times by accident. Any defender with any pace and who is willing to stay on their feet would love coming up against Townsend. He's exciting for fans when watching because he runs so fast and directly, but he also runs mindlessly. Apart from that, he brings nothing to the team. He's not a great crosser and he takes about 10 shots to find the target.
  12. This new board can't even do a bloody meltdown properly ffs!
  13. Do you think Lambert would have been a first team regular this year, considering we tried replacing him last summer and that he was also nearly sold in January?
  14. They were both at Reading together for the 2009/10 season, Long made 36 appearances that season and Bertrand 51. It's reasonable to assume that they played together a fair few times that year.
  15. I refuse to believe we are in for Shane Long until he follows a bunch of our players on Social Media. That's how it works, right? Shane Long and Ryan Bertrand would both have played together in the 2009/10 season for Reading in the Championship.
  16. It's all about perspective. Replacing manager who has had one good season with us with a manager who has a better track record and history than any other manager we've ever appointed. Losing 5 players but wrangling over the top prices from the biggest clubs in the country to allow us to replace well. Signing Europe's 3rd highest goalscorer in the last two years, the best player from the Eredevise, England's 3rd choice goalkeeper who has Champions League experience and taking players on loan from Chelsea (a champions league winner) and a quality player Inter Milan (Whilst shipping out the headcase Osvaldo), both with the option to buy at the end of the season with fee's already agreed? I'd take that any day. We are paying over the odds for Long, but realistically, we wouldn't get him for any less than Hull paid for him at least and they will want to see some profit so they can get a quality replacement. I'm not a Shane Long fan at all but understand why Hull are making us pay over the odds, just like we did to Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United. Also, Remy's buyout clause of £8.5m is only an option to teams currently in the Champions League. If we wanted to sign him then the fee would have been around £18m and then add ons. Rojo and Caulker are actually not in the same calibre. Rojo is much better. Of course he would ignore us when Manchester United came calling. Caulker apparently had a medical with us but he had the chance to work with an ex-manager and in an area he knows better. Can see why he went with them, and they would have offered him more money as they don't seem to care how much they pay if they land their targets.
  17. Can't work out what I find more ridiculous, the reported price tag or the avatar's of the posters on this Hull forum! http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=forum&forum_id=8&thread_id=19315
  18. He'd be happy as long as it's stripey!
  19. I'm glad to hear we're going for players with legs! I'd call that the bear minimum, to be fair.
  20. I'd have nobody over Shane Long!
  21. 80 goals in 307 club apps (28 in 146 in the PL) are not the stats of a striker to get excited about. This guy loves to take a tumble and seems to spend more time sulking than scoring. I haven't seen much of him to be honest, but have never thought much of him when I've seen him play. Would rather have Lee Barnard back if we want someone to not score and wind up the opposition defence and fans!
  22. Are you broken?
  23. He's had a couple now, by the sound of things!
