  1. These are some of the worst penalties i've ever seen
  2. Modern football where player power > manager power. I don't think players should be publicly having a dig at former managers to excuse their own performance regardless of how much truth there is to it.
  3. Cedric with the threat of competition for the first time in ages. Give Valery midweek games. If we manage to get safe from relegation then Valery can get more games at the end of the season.
  4. But how much £ did you lose?
  5. Clyne Lovren VanDijk starting together.
  6. So demoralising when we give up weak goals like that. We need to try to keep the intensity.
  7. Scored again today. 16 games in Ajax and PSV have a combined record of 109 goals scored, 14 conceded. Ridiculous league.
  8. https://www.reddit.com/r/soccerstreams/comments/a6oiyp/1330_gmt_southampton_vs_arsenal/
  9. I wouldn't call it pointless. It's a representation of how willing owners are to spend. Everyone knows Levy is tight with money. We're in another world with our owners. They sold the story of us being the best run club by being sustainable but we are where we are because of our unwillingness to reinvest. Sadly the drop is inevitable. You can't keep up in this league by standing still. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  10. They still beat us on net spend by a huge margin. Net spend last 5 years: Man City £510m Man Utd £418m Chelsea £243m Arsenal £222m Everton £205m Liverpool £174m West Ham £146m Leicester £142m Brighton £132m Palace £130m Bournemouth £112m Wolves £97m Fulham £81m Watford £81m Newcastle £71m Huddersfield £65m Burnley £58m Spurs £43m Cardiff £19m Saints -£35m https://www.transferleague.co.uk/premier-league-last-five-seasons/transfer-league-tables/premier-league-table-last-five-seasons It's surprising we managed to stay up last year given all the other clubs are spending much more while we cheap out on signing reserve players, having inexperienced goalkeepers as 1st team coaches etc.
  11. Marco Silva must be under a lot of pressure. Everton have spent a fortune in recent seasons (£402m in 5 seasons) and they're behind Wolves.
  12. lol. This will be a fun bump in 5 months. Considering 8th and a cup final wasn't enough for most of our fans, i'll be shocked if he keeps his job after 23 games in charge and gets relegated. If we get relegated then he'll have likely done no better than Pellegrino (28pts in 30 games), and a hell of a lot worse than Puel.
  13. Attacking player with 44 goals in 280 games. Not able to become a first team regular for 4 seasons. Fits our 2016 strategy change perfectly! When can he sign? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  14. Spurs with 8 wins in their last 9 (loss to Arsenal). The other teams around us, bar Fulham, are picking up wins each week. Coming in to Xmas with all the rotation there'll be a bunch of upsets, we need to be part of that.
  15. The decline started when we lost Van Dijk, Fonte, Wanyama in defence and Mane, Pelle in attack. Huge loss of quality that we never got back. Little to do with managers, everything to do with recruitment.
  16. "Wes: Two managers sacked and i'm still here "
  17. Can we rename this thread to "Top 5 pledges..." I can't take it seriously otherwise. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  18. Boom. I wonder who the next scapegoat for our 2nd-string recruitment strategy will be.
  19. A source in the club tells me we almost have the 5 pledges we expect the new DoF to make written down. After that we'll start looking at applicants.
  20. Quantity over quality strategy.
  21. I've said it before. If the order was Koeman > MoPe > Hughes > Puel then Puel would be hugely popular Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  22. Tadic is definitely a guy that shines with good players around him. Wouldn't look out of place in a better team but is totally wasted in poor teams like what we became post Mane/Pelle. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  23. Why should they when they're all on bumper long contracts from recent renewals? Give it 2 years and they'll start playing harder. https://www.transfermarkt.com/fc-southampton/vertragsende/verein/180/vertragsendeJahr/2022
