I always thought the situation with Toby was Athletico agreed, but Toby didn't want to sign with us when Spurs came to the table. Nothing we could've done there unless he signed terms when the loan started?

Pay young men millions, glorify them, and you're bound to get some bad attitudes in there. I doubt any club is immune. Having said that, your list is a bit ridiculous. None of them are Balotelli level.

I don't think Wilson's worth anything near that. He scored a bunch of goals last season because Bournemouth were attack attack attack flooding players forward every game. They scored the most goals outside of the big 6 but worth noting they had the 3rd worst defence only edging out Fulham and Huddersfield.

The womens world cup officials are way too inexperienced at using it. The technologies great but they need to make it quicker. I'm not liking the linesmans intentionally not flagging even when it's clear as day offside. If they're unsure then the rules say give the attacker benefit of the doubt (and let VAR deny it if they're wrong) but otherwise flag up when it's obvious.

I'd be satisfied if he gives us 5 pledges. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Probably 12th-15th. I really don't expect us to bring many players in unless we manage to offload half a dozen which will be a challenge in itself. So our squad now is what we'll have next season.

Smells like a money laundering startup that won't actually deliver a service. If the money put in stays at the club then great but will it? The owner is yet to earn our trust. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

He started the season strong but a poor backend. 8 goals before Christmas and none since. Still our most lethal striker in terms of goals per minute. If he was £10m then I think we'd be unanimous here that it was a decent punt that hasn't fully worked out but that £20m record signing price tag puts some weight on his shoulders. Personally I'm happy to get behind him and give him another year to see if he regains that early season form. Liverpool have won 16 points from losing positions this season, the most in the division. Southampton have now lost 23 points from leading positions, more than anyone else. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Best league in world but probably worst officials - Warnock
Ultimatt replied to John B's topic in The Saints
The refs generally suck but the players have also become experts at not only conning them, but knowing how to draw contact to force a decision. I don't see VAR helping here. VAR should be used for offsides no question. It takes over a minute for play to resume so during the celebrations every goal should be reviewed. Always give the attackers the benefit of the doubt and always review a goal. No excuse for getting these wrong in 2019. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
GK: Gunn/McCarthy/Taylor. RB: Valery backed up by Stephens/Yoshida/(JWP) LB: Bertrand/Targett. We'd only buy if Bertrand leaves. CB: Vester/Yoshida/Bednarek/Stephens/Jones. Even if Hoedt goes we won't buy. CM: Lemina/Hojbjerg/Romeu/Reed. Clasie can be sold and we're still covered. AM: JWP/Armstrong/Hesketh. Wingers: Redmond/Elyoun/Sims/(Long). Boufal can go and we're still (poorly) covered. ST: Ings/Austin/Long/Olomola. While i agree we need more quality in several positions, the board clearly wants to cut quantity. We won't fill up the ranks anymore without selling a few. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I don't expect any in's unless we successfully shift the majority of the players we need out. Our board goes very all in on strategies. They had the bright idea to sign every single player of our 25 man squad onto long contracts which meant payrises to players that didn't earn them. Now they're committed to offloading as many non first 11 players as possible. Bed and breakfast management. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Liverpool have 100% bought their way to being a title challenger. To not win any trophies is an embarrassment to them and a big mark against Klopp imo. VVD £75m Alisson £66m Keita £53m Fabinho £40m Oxlade-Chamberlain £35m Salah £34m Mane £34m Firmino £29m Wijnaldum £25m Lallana £25m Lovren £20m £604m for transfers in over the last 5 seasons. How they haven't won a trophy is beyond me. The media love-in is ridiculous.

Good post. I think field hockey does it well with penalty corners for most infringements and only penalty shots for clear goal-scoring chances. You could easily implement something similar in football with a free kick in line with the infringement taken on the very edge of the box. Retroactive punishments for diving would be great. 3 game bans. I'd also support the FA fining a weeks wages every time they deem someone exaggerated a fall, with all the money going to grassroots football.

Creative players need good attackers around them to shine. I maintain he never got worse, the players around him did. He could've easily made a move to liverpool instead of Shaqiri. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Fulham's away record this season before today was 0W 2D 12L. Not getting 3 points today would've been criminal. Job done. Good to see both goals coming from the midfield as its an area that hasn't delivered for years.

Looks like Stephens has the same agent as Forster. His talents are clearly wasted in football, he should be the one negotiating brexit.
-
Puel was a miracle worker getting us to 8th with half a season of Stephens/Yoshida protecting Forster.

I'm all for giving academy players a chance while they're developing (17-22). That's plenty of time to determine if a player has what it takes for this level in which case they stay, or we should sell and open up the pathway for another youngster. That's all moot with Stephens because he's 25 now. He's essentially at his peak. Personally I don't think he's at the standard to be starting, a backup player at best. On that front, i'd much prefer players like Stephens and other academy players making up our bench rather than signing a bloated squad like we'd done the last 3 year. Put the money in the best 1st XI we can and then let the academy look after the rest of the squad. Stephens should realistically be 4th or 5th choice (if we play a back 3) and we should look to have 3 quality players ahead of him.

On one hand i'm glad we didn't panic buy failures. On the other hand it's a shame we can't organize our business ahead of time. Gao and Kat are set on milking us dry and are playing such a dangerous game flirting with relegation each year. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47016796 Puel a mile in front of all other teams when it comes to playing youth. MoPo doing alright. We're well down but you'd imagine we'd be much higher if RH was here all season.
