I think Les and co were indeed the perfect management team prior to our inevitable relegation. A board that cares about profits and exploiting its fans more than getting on field results. Perfect management for an investment group looking to make profit. Sadly they cut costs in too many areas and took our PL status for granted.

The change in strategy of giving undeserving players long contracts/payrises instead of looking to move them on and upgrade them, and moving to almost exclusively only sign backups/leftovers from big teams was all summer 2016. Go back and watch how teams set up against us at home. Basically everyone outside the top 6 parked the bus against us knowing full well that we didn't have the players to break them down. Teams came to St Mary's looking for a point and our strikers missed a ton of chances. That's the biggest reason games were boring. Whereas in away games we were allowed to play and did. Football is a 2 team game. If one team is playing turgid disruptive football then it's hard for the other to shine.

That's crushing. Will be hard to get the players up after that. Ultimately we're 18th for a reason. 7 times in a row we haven't won from 1-0 up. 5(?) clean sheets all season? We've looked good all season against the top teams but always lost by 1 goal. We've also not won the last 6 times we led 1-0. Absolutely crucial we put an end to both those and get the 3 points today. Chelsea have switched off in the league this season with nothing to play for.

When City signed KDB he'd just played 51 games the previous season for Wolfsburg with 16 goals and 23 assists, add on the 7 goals and 5 assists for Belgium that season.
