Saints announce Virgin Media as new main club sponsor
thorpie the sinner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Great timing as well -
For me, FDB if we get the chance! Just feels like the right fit
-
Sounds about right, if it works out though, I could see FDB staying for at least 3 years or more, he looks a solid manager in essence without the romantic visions of Barca etc, just a feeling
-
I am sure Saint Armstrong can find a club for AVB before the night is out Clarkey lol!!!
-
Bloody hell, this is't looking good!! We may end up with Warnock after all!!
-
so where are the 175 votes going to now?
-
More than likely lol!! Neil Warnock maybe ha
-
Beginning to look like Saintsweb has spoken! Straight fight between Emery and FDB!
-
Did Guan say that FDB was def on our short list?
-
Frank De Boer for me, feels like a natural progression and likes to play decent football on ground!
-
ref15 TBF, what exactly did you expect? Surely, you must be able to go back to your own site and pick a decent argument there, we much preferring arguing with each other anyway lol! On a serious note, my only worry for EFC is in 2 years time when Barca/Arse/national side come calling. You will most likely find yourselves in exactly same boat! RK sees himself in a big job, and then you will be starting again like us!
-
Good article and definitely believe number 2 is the scenario, been thinking it would happen that way for a while! Key to all of this is our next appointment! Faith in the board to do just that

coming back today mate, but thanks mate

615am in France, just me, my thoughts and a strong coffee for company, thought it was a good time to take stock of our recent situation. What do I really want as a devoted Saints fan? I am 46 and watched my first ever match at the Dell in 1978, Ted McDougall netting the winner in a 2 1 victory over Sheff Utd: I saw some amazing matches at that wonderful old stadium thereafter, none moreso than the 3 2 victory over Liverpool where Nick Holmes scored 10 seconds into second half just as big Lawrie was coming back out; he smiled, turned round and went back into dressing room. My point is, there have been many amazing moments and there will be many more. Players and managers, some legends come and go, but the club evolves and moves on. Poch left citing no ambition, Ron is leaving intimating the ambition of club not matching his own, 6m a year and a new agent has helped in his decision making I guess. What is our ambition though? What are my hopes and dreams? As I sit here watching a beautiful sun rise in Roz, I realised I want a healthy, well run club to support, Players and managers (like super KEL and MLT) who are proud to wear the shirt, and the dream of something more, the reality doesn't really matter. This year we have a proper European campaign to look forward to, next year, it maybe a decent cup run and the dream of a day out at Wembley. Just having a dream is enough. I am a proud Saint, I am eternally grateful to Marcus, equally grateful to Kat for carrying on her father's dream and happy that we continue to be well run paving the way for a future where our children can also experience the rollercoaster of being a Saint; I look forward to the next manager, I look forward to Europe, I look forward to dreaming next year and I look forward to future memories that truly loving a club will provide.

Is he off then?

VIDEO: Les Reed on Ronald Koeman's future
thorpie the sinner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Tend to agree, Saints normally say nothing at all until a situation is factually resolved. New agents could be meeting club to sort out severance pay for club ending contract early, ie Ron having told them he won't be extending! All v strange, but like Crab Lungs, hope he does sign! -
Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day
thorpie the sinner replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
Those 5 and RK off would be crazy! Those 5 with the black box replacements and RK staying, I could cope with! -
So if RK does just wants to see his contract out, does the club let him or move now for a new option?
-
Over to you Les, Ralph, Gareth etc.
thorpie the sinner replied to Daft Kerplunk's topic in The Saints
Yep, didn't really mean viable, just have a gut feeling he will go rolling if he stays! -
Totally agree mate

THE SAVIOUR Six years ago to the very day, We were introduced to the Liebherr way, Saved from the abyss by a man with a vision, the future looked bright following years of derision. Markus was a gentleman through and through, etched into Saints folklore, his intentions were true. Maybe a business venture at the start, It soon became a passion from the heart. A 5 year Premier plan was put in place, Achieved in 3, a beaming smile on his face, We will never forget Markus at Wembley, Taking photos as we won the JPT. Such a sad day when we said a sorrowful goodbye, Our Guardian Angel looking down from on high, What would the future hold as Katherina took control, would she honour her fathers love with her heart and soul? Markus’s daughter has been a breath of fresh air, Her fathers spirit at her core, new visions to share, Markus will always remain in my heart, His spirit of Southampton setting us truly apart. Wrote this a while back! I know I am throwing myself to the wolves lol, poetry and football not quite perfect partners, but what the hell... The reason for posting it was that I actually felt utterly proud to be a Saints fan last night. Great turn out for a loyal player in an era where loyalty means zilch. Returning players who looked genuinely happy to be back, great chants from crowds and an insight into what makes this club tick. We all bicker especially on here, but we all have the same goals, we are family. Looking at the picture of Poch, Adders, Kat and Ron really summed up the spirit of Southampton. We will move forward as a team, no matter the manager or the players indeed. Without Markus, this may not have been possible. Love being a Saint.......right enough of being a complete woos, I am off to get a chilled beer from the fridge and continuing with War and Peace!

Would love us to activate Andros Townsend's release clause! Looks like West Ham are interested in doing just that
