I must admit I feared for my insanity 1 min into the game when i read the overly vitriolic, negative, venting their spleen comments from two of our most famous posters, but luckily they were utterly wrong as usual!!! What a fantastic night, the spirit returned in bucket loads and this helped pull off this amazing result! The players rolled their sleeves up and said 'We are Southampton'. So proud this morning! Still think we need a CB for depth to move forward and a striker but the deals have to be right for us. Players standing up to plate all over the park, so if we have to wait to summer for better fit, so be it! Just revelling in being a Saint this morning

Poch left due to perceived lack of ambition, but I am not entirely sure the club have ever changed their strategy re ambition. It has always been the sustainable business model. A manager's ambition would be buying best players etc, hence why Poch went to Spuds. We are what we are, no different to me though, I will always be a Saint regardless.

Silence really doesn't mean anything with Saints to be fair! Saying that will be glad when Feb 1st comes around, at least we will know exactly where we are! Might even be with a seemingly contrite captain

Didn't get to watch game last night, but I have been an advocate of Charlie Austin for ages now and am delighted he got on the score sheet. Did we play to his strengths last night or is he just looking sharper. The games I have seen, he just looked a bit out of place. If we can utilise him to his strengths, he is def a 15 goal a year striker, is it too early to predict that within Claudes diamonds? Appreciate any thoughts from those at game? I watched the U23's last night and was very impressed by our youngsters. Stephens really impressed as did Thomas O'Connor, just wondered if any, Stephens especially who might be able to make the jump to first team this year. Stephens has bided his time and is beginning to look the real deal. Too early to replace Fonte if he goes? Also impressed with Alfie Jones the times I have seen him. Quite excited about potential and just wondered who else might be really close to stepping up?

Across the boards yesterday it became apparent that K Billy is the Daddy of ITK's when it comes to Saints! He has been as silent as the grave but I am going to wait for his sage comments before I get excited!
