Saints target Koulibaly Southampton are close to snapping up Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly. Saints boss Ronald Koeman added to his defensive options this week by signing Steven Caulker on loan from QPR. And now he has turned his attention to the Serie A side's France Under-20 star Koulibaly. The Italians took Vlad Chiriches from Tottenham on a four-year deal last week and are now ready to cash in on the 24-year-old. Southampton boasted one of the best defensive records in the top flight last season and Koeman wants to preserve it.

Morgan must be getting more frustrated by the day! To be honest, he was the one player who I didn't mind moving as he has been a real asset for Saints, but after 6 years prob deserved a bigger move. The longer it goes on, the messier the departure will be! Still, we know he is off so not quite the same as losing Toby to Spurs or even Clyne going! think whoever we get in to replace him will be solid! The Polish guy would be a fantastic acquisition

Very interested now to see what RK says. Total faith in the man but cant help but feel he got hung out to dry! Also interested to see the fall out when details come to light inc why our CFO left!! As mooted yesterday, I will be interested to hear what RK says about losing Toby to Spurs. I imagine publically he will be stoic and say that Toby had called him etc to explain his reasons and he wishes him all the best. I still think RK is a breath of fresh air in a very murky world and firmly believe that he will again move us forwards next year!

Interesting to see Gaston there and seemingly being given a chance by RK according to echo article! Could be a solid addition this year with a good pre season along with Jay.

If Toby wants to sign for Spurs. you can't blame him, he was only on loan here! FWIW, clubs our size always sell their best players, it is a business after all! However, the last couple of years has showed me that we might very well get another jewel in the crown for a lot less money! Not being vindictive, but Spurs will have paid a lot of money for a defender who does spend quite a lot of time on the injury table! We move on
