Tajjuk's coments about our Players didnt know who they were supposed to be marking is very relevant. In the close-up TV shots they looked bewildered at times. Arsenal were certainly on song but our players did not look like this against Man City and Man U. Perhaps the occasion and size of Stadium got to them but certainly a win V Wigan is so important now to breed confidence.The reality check is that the Premier League is so much different than the Championship.

I thought this was a strange appointment when it was announced. NA said it was because he had shown loyalty to Saints over many years and was a very good player. Whilst I agree with those sentiments, not the best reasons for appointing AL captain methinks.

Gazza has played lower league football regularly. It is not like the Bart situation where he was on the bench for years. If we do not play Gazza how will we or he know, if he is any good or not. Gazza came to us for a chance of Premier League Football, if he does not play after the last 4 performances we have seen, his confidence may be shot too.

Kelvin does give too many goals away from shots way outside the penalty area and at the near post. Furthermore he does not command his area. We all commented on this last year but he got away with it in the Championship. The Premiership is ruthless and sadly, time for a change now.

He thing that struck me was how much faster Arsenal were than us. Their forwards went past our defemders just as though they were not there.

Signings depend on so much ie. The player wants to come, the price is acceptable to the selling club, the terms are acceptable to the player et. If there is stalement on any one of these, the deal can end after negotiation falls down. Let us give it a rest now.

My opinion of him is the same as S-Clarke above. He has pace and I wonder if that is the reason why NA is hanging on to him for the time being, as we badly lack this in our forwards.

On reading all the pre-season reports ,JP has had a good pre-season and NA seems to rate him at present evidenced by his starts.Let us see how he does this season before looking backwards. If he does not cut the mustard, we need not renew his contract which is probaly due up next year.

Not worried at all about the players we have been linked with as most are simply paper talk. The players we have signed so far are v. good signings. Leave the rest to NA--he knows what he is doing " in private, behind closed doors"

The clip on Saints Player is really impressive. Just up NA street I feel. Cannot imagine Burley or HR getting involved with this.

Jack played well last night after a disappointing first half by GB. Agree with points above regarding keeping the ball, which a lot of his team mates could not do in the first half. It was a slow boring game though from GB perspective.

I think we will do well in the Premier League. All of our signings have been very good,unlike the old days. Furthermore you cannot help be impressed by the piece with Mo Gimpel on Saints Player on the sports science. The amount of detail that goes into a player now to get him up to speed, is amazing.

He will be commanding in the box with that height and with his superb kicking, it will be like having another outfield player. A good signing and another young player who can develop further. NA must give him more games than Bart had though so his confidence will be kept up.
