  1. I expect everyone is waiting for the players to put some of their massive wages in first in order to save their jobs.
  2. Jesse, Sid or David?
  3. Never looked liked losing this game, despite those misses. Surman looked v. tired in seconed half and BWP does not like getting stuck in when chasing the ball with a defender. Well done lads.
  4. Having paid up front for my season ticket for years and lost money on my shareholding, regretfully I will not put any money in a bucket to cover players wages, when they earn far more I ever dreamed of and most are intellectually challenged. If they all should come out and state that they will be giving back a % of their wages to the club, I would donate.
  5. If they will not voluntary give some of their wages back as is happening out in the real world (wages forgone) why should anyone make donations to ensure they get paid in full. That really seems crazy.
  6. The truth in this scenario is that anything is negotiable!
  7. But you still have to go back to why we were relegated. Remember after the Cup Final Lowe said "we were ready to move on to the next level." Then WGS went to him to buy 2 players for £6m, Malbranque and Saha. Lowe refused, WGS "resigned" under subdefuge, and the rest just follows on like a pack of cards.
  8. It is true we have tightened the defence admirably but the problem is that we just cannot score many goals. This will be our downfall I am afraid. Therefore Negative.
  9. How many is that he has?

I first saw him at Exeter in a pre-season friendly a couple of seasons ago and he had a very good game. I think he has done well when playing for us and his loan spell will only make him a better player.
  11. Bart was great when he first came to SMS but after the Newcastle Cup game, when he was injured, he has been dodgy on the few occasions I have seen him. Let us hope he can regain his confidence as he has all the attributes to be a very good keeper.
  12. Exactly!
  13. Unfortunately we simply lack quality and that cannot be improved upon, but somebody please somebody, teach Lallana how to get some power behind kicking a ball.
  14. His "awkwardness" keeps defences fully occupied which gives our midfielders and defenders chance to drop balls into the penalty box for Saga to run onto. This was evidenced a number of times on Saturday. He also seemed to have a good turn of pace on occassions as well as a decent shot.
  15. Cardiff had 10 corners. A few months ago we could not defend set pieces but it is different now Size has come in. Well done lads, you all gave 100% once again.
  16. If we should play like we did against PNE of course we will win. This will mean JE being awkward against the defenders and Size having a strong game at Centre Back again. Above all we must continue to get the ball first.
  17. It is about time players put themselves about at these courses. My grandsons attended the Saints Courses at Moyles Court Ringwood for 3 years running and nobody from the 1st team squad ever attended. Of about the 30 or so children attending, only about 8 were wearing Saints kits. What great opportunities were missed to present the children with their awards and after all Ringwood is not a million miles from Southampton. There must have been some injured players who were not training on the day.
  18. Most on this board agree that to do well in this league, we need a big lump up front and at centre back. Our lumps on Saturday were Jason Euell and Size and how well they did. The other factor was the fact that, for the first time I can remember for a little while, we were first on the ball. A fact not unnoticed by Preston's Manager. An accolade for the Referee too, he was not keen to dish out yellow cards all the time and tried to keep the game in flow. I cannot remember moaning at him once throughout the game.
  19. The difference in the Skates debt to SFC, is that it is likely a shareholders loan, injected indirectly by Gaydamak. The club is owned by Milan Developments Ltd who in turn is owned by a Offshore Company, presumably Gaydamaks. It is unlikely that he would pull the plug on "himself" .No doubt the large sums received from Defoe and Diarra have been injected into the Club to reduce Gaydamak's exposure. However, unless he can sell it soon, the cash deficits will continue with or without his support and thus, bearing in mind the credit crunch, cannot be sustainable in the medium to long term.
  20. Kevin Davies was poor with us 2nd time around as he was with Blackburn. I did not rate Delap or Fuller either. Look at them all now, so give the new lad a chance please!

    Paul Wotton

The best example of passion, comittment and leadership I have seen from a player at St Mary's for many a while. Right form the huddle he was encouraging and cajoling our players and many times he was hurling his body in and winning the ball, even when he was on the ground. This is what championship football is all about if we wish to get out of this mess.
  22. Any big unskilled striker with a name like Aygabenni, as someone of this ilk always scores against us.
  23. Unfortunately the Club have no idea about marketing and Business Development. Unfortunately, they have the old British Rail Syndrome charge high prices for empty carriages or offer a good discount and fill them up. No wonder we are going into administration!
  24. He never came up to expectations, but then that is the difference between football in the Scottish Premier and the Championship League here I guess.
  25. Lowe, Wilde and Crouch would be mad to put any money in SFC at the present time. It does not make sense for any businessman to do this. There is nobody in the UK either who would do this in the current climate, only a rich sheik would be a possibility and that is unlikely. (We would still be a better bet than Citeh though on a return on equity basis). All we can hope for is that Wotte improves performance on the pitch and we rise up the table to stay in the second division. We can then hope for an improved performance next year to bring the crowds back and get out of this mess.
