  1. Every position? You'd rather take Forster on a loan to see if Gazzaniga improves on the off chance?
  2. Not sure if anyone has had the chance to watch Jose Fonte's latest interview ( ) but the interviewer asked him explicitly about the captain's armband. I don't think it's too much a stretch of the imagination to therefore presume that he'll get it throughout next year. A fantastic decision if it turns out to be true.
  3. Oh, I completely agree with you! All I'm saying is that despite expectations being unrealistic, we shouldn't be too judgemental on other people. The fans have been through a lot and many have weak bladders - we shouldn't blame them for that
  4. You can hardly blame people for wanting a boost after recent events though? In my opinion, Bertrand is a fantastic signing, but he lacks that 'glamour' impact so people are naturally going to be a bit underwhelmed. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes one of our most valuable players next year.
  5. Excellent signing. Should he impress, the club can make a stronger financial commitment next season. If he doesn't, then it leaves room for Targett to develop. There's very little risk yet so much to gain from Ryan Betrand. Very happy with this. Onwards and upwards - time for a CB and GK next!
  6. Kevin-Prince Boateng (Ghana) v Jerome Boateng (Germany) ... but you're right, t'is rare!
  7. It's got to be one of either Walcott or Oxlade Chamberlain - either of which would be an excellent acquisition. My preference would be the former with an option to buy at the end. EDIT: One can dream..
  8. For some reason, I can't shake the feeling that we may let Cork go and invest in a new midfielder. Just an instinct, so nothing substantial in there (except maybe the fact Jack hasn't been offered a new contract and we've been linked with Taider etc.) ...
  9. Of course there weren't any lies - just exaggerations and overreactions by many of the members of this board (which is completely natural when following recent events of the club). As I've said in a previous thread, the only substantial criticism you can launch at the board right now is their previous lack of communication. That has now been sorted. EDIT: For example, looking at things completely objectively, one should interpret "there will be no more sales unless it's in the interest of the club" as not closing the door to any transfers. Lambert's subsequent sale does not contradict the above statement. Yet many, simply listening to their knee-jerk emotional reaction (again, a natural thing), decided to lash out at the board. It's a boring process.
  10. Sometimes we just hear what we want to hear.
  11. I think it was the first time I've heard him just answer a question straight up. He was very assured that they'll stay; I'm very happy!
  12. Harry Kane?
  13. Exactly, and it's an excellent sign of ambition to create a self sustaining model etc. I think I was trying to hit out at the swarms of posters I see in other threads who say we're downsizing, trying to sell for a quick buck etc. etc. I'm under no illusions here
  14. I think the OP was referring to future expectations. So: team promised appropriate ambition and backing from the board to achieve CL as well as their own relative contract increases, yet board cannot afford this based on our commercial revenue. This means team believe they've been misled and demand to move.
  15. Disagree. No matter how high the odds against you, every game in the PL can bring you points. We might need a bit of luck, but it's not inevitable that we won't get anything from the Liverpool game. Keep the faith!
  16. Sort of want to believe this.
  17. tl;dr - A whole lot more plausible than Crab Lungs' original effort.
  18. tl;dr - Nothing that we didn't know already/ couldn't have patched together from things other people have already said.
  19. If Morgan goes, him. If not, Lambert for sentimental value.
  20. Very nice but you're missing a beat in the first line - change Ralph to Kruger and you're good to go
  21. I think we'd be one of the most defensive teams considering the amount of negativity on this board.
  22. Definitely. A side that won't set the world on fire, but will provide consistency through the PL. Then again, I thought the same thing about Norwich last season.
  23. Really? That's quite hard to stomach...! Where did you hear that?
  24. Laters, Lovren. It's official.
